I've not had much experience with regex, unfortunately, so I can't suggest a regex expression that will work. However, as far as getting false positives with constructures, one way to eliminate them when you find a method is check the method's name. If the name matches that of the class, you can tag it as a constructor.
As far as finding methods in the first place, hmm... Wouldn't every line that ends with a right closing parenthesis ')' and is not followed by a semicolone indicate that the line is the beginning of a method? Just thinking out loud.

If i can do this with regex only, thats what i'm going to do. I started this project to get better in regular expressions.
Thanks for the suggestion on finding methods, never thought of it that way. But there is one problem with this method, it can be used to find methods, but not extract the name, type and visibility (public, private).
I'm currently trying to find every "method" with the same name as the class by using regular expressions, but i must be missing something fundamental, because its not working they way i want it.
It possible to reuse capturing groups in regular expressions, but its not working.. yet.
this is for finding the class:
public class (?<classname>\w+)\n*\s*\{
very simple right now, this is the regex extended to reuse the class name:
public class (\w+)\n*\s*\{\n*\s*public \w+ \1
But its not working, if anyone have some info on this, please contribute.

I think you can't have a Datagrid with out a table.
But what I want to do is get a list of Jgp files on my computer and display them in a list, with a tick box, a preview of the JPG and a text box with the path.
What would be the best way to present this as a list on screen?
Sorry if this seems an easy question.

You can create a DataGridView without a datasource by manually adding columns and rows. However, using some type of datasource is going to be your best bet.
Create a class to represent your image specifics and then create a typed collection for your class. Set the datasource of the data grid to your collection. I use a 3rd party grid so you may have some slightly different steps, but this is the meat of it. (For example, you may have to dump the collection into a BindingSource -- I'm not sure though.)

How do I go about putting an image (in my case, I want an arrow denoting direction of sort) in the header of a ListView TO THE RIGHT of the text? Is it possible without resorting to using APIs? If not, is it pretty much like doing it in VC++ (which I have seen code on here at CodeProject)? Can you direct me to an example?
Secondary question... How do I change the background color of a column in a ListView? Again, can it be done without APIs? Is it done like in VC++? Where can I find an example?

This is not the way to ask. People will answer, when they can.
You need to do two things. First, you need to handle the mousedown event, and store the co-ordinates where the user clicks, into a List<point> or something.
Second, you need to handle your forms Paint routine, and if you have more than two points stored, you need to iterate over them and draw lines onto your form.
You force your paint routine to run by calling Invalidate().

There is a code file called Program.cs that defines the main entry point of the application. The start up form is the one that gets passed to the Application.Run method.

This is design time, it just can't be done in the designer. You have to write actual code to change what form is run first.

Hello all,
My pb is to play an mp3 file in a csharp form using windows media player.
I have a form, in it i have put wmp (which is good for my program).
I can play my mp3s in wmp but only if i specify the path of where the mp3s are located.
windowsmediaplayer.Url = @"c:/my documents/...
My pb is to include the mp3s in the resource of my app. When i try to include them in the sound resources the mp3s are converted to .bin files and they won't play as they are no more sound files but .bin files.
How can i include them in the resources and what code do i write to play them from wmp ?
I don't want to use : windowsmediaplayer.Url = @"c:/my documents/... anymore.

Hi,
Can I use DBType.XML in .net 2.0 to pass xml string to a stored procedure in sql server 2000 ?
It's just that I know sql 2000 does not have xml type. If this is true then how is it possible to pass very large xml string to a stored procedure parameter? Remember that the xml strings may be more than 10000 characters.
At present, using .net 2.0, I am passing xml string using DbType.AnsiString with length of 50,000 and the stored procedure parameters that accepts the xmlstring is of type text.
I tried using DbType.XML in .net 2.0 but noticed that sql 2000 does not accept it.
Do you also know the max length of AnsiString?
Your thoughts please?

DbType.Xml is new for SQL 05, not supported by anything previous. I don't know the max length for AnsiString, but the SQL TEXT data type can store up to 2GB.

AnsiString maps to VARCHAR or TEXT in SQL Server, while String maps to NVARCHAR and NTEXT. The latter of which requires twice as much space to store data. So unless you really need unicode data I'd stick w/ AnsiString as you are currently using.

I get an "http/1.0 425 http Error" when i try the create a web service using Visual Studio 2003. I have IIS installed and started.
I go to File -> New-> Projects->C# Projects - > ASP.NET web service.
I click 'ok', then i get the above error. Researched it on the web but cannot find a solution get beyond this point.
Anyone know about this?
