when i make a new icon in the ide it always starts with a 32*32 icon which i dont want ... how can i delete it or only have a 16*16 icon that gets used for the system tray?

In the icon editor, click Image->New Device Image.

Delete the 32*32 one. "Delete device image"

When you call LoadImage to load the icon into an HICON, specify the size that you want, 16x16, then you will be able to have both versions stored in one icon.

hi
i used the default app icon for my system tray icon and it seems to have been squished down cos bits of it are missing ... am assuming one can provide a separate icon and all but how big should i make it?

yes 16x16 in size, and cooincidentally you will need to make it a 16 color bitmap as well. Even if you give the tray a 256 color icon, it will squash it to 16 colors.

I thought that starting with win2k the systray can have 256 colors icons. Please correct me as I am not sure. Thanks.

Hi, I've wondered if there is some article describing the "Add Remove Programs" program API. I need to list installed programs, and be able to install and uninstall the way this program does.
All help appreciated,

Look in HKLM\software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Each key under that one is a product. Ones that have both "DisplayName" and "UninstallString" values are listed in Add/Remove.

Thanks Mike, I've found them, but yet, I don't have any idea on how to programatically call Uninstall like I've done it when I press the Uninstall button. Any ideas on doing that?

How do you format a number to have 2 digits, for example 1 would become 01 and 10 would stay 10. There wont be any 3 digit numbers so it doesn't have to round, just add a 0 to 1-digit numbers.

Hello there,
There isn’t any control or ActiveX or etc.
I just drew a jpeg file by IPicture(class interface) in background !
Then, I loaded a .bmp file from resource as usual …
CBitmap bmp;
bmp.LoadBitmap(IDB_BITMAP1);
In one of functions in my program I have to move the bitmap on the dialog !!!
Problem is when I moving the bitmap, I don’t know how could refresh that 
I used Invalidate() function too, but it doesn’t work
