Yeh life is pretty gud.
it hardly takes 2hrs in a day to visit each forum and keep myself update.
..this forum cant improve so let it be like this....as you all are now use to it. Anyway soon ill come up with my own C++ forum site and ill show you all the difference.

I wish you much success! But again, you don't have the time to successfully adminstrate such a site to your requirements, according to your previos posts.

do it yourself.
if you have time to post a half-dozen messages here you can certainly find the time to read the list of forums at the top of the page and click the one labeled "Suggestions"

This is a ideology issue, there is no good or bad way.
Me think that for a forum with a large number of posts, having the traditional "bump-to-the-top" type of forum will cause more problem than less, people tend to abuse the system and spend all their time bumping their topics for nothing.

No its nothing like that. Well where as the forum site would be greatly utilized. Well you urself tell me if how many pages do you check out 2-3 or you go til 10-20 pages back to look for the last replied post.
Well according to me, it should be bump to the top. Well even other forum sites are using this approach with no hastles...

Well, according to the "Authors" it should not, so what will it be ? whether it's good or not, it's not my decision, nor yours, but only the Author's; this is a free site, offered freely to everyone; the least you can do is "appreciate" the design decision (you are also free to not agree with the decision).
BTW, this topic comes around at least once a year.

The "bumping" system works great for forums with large number of posts. In fact, I would not call the Code Project forum very large. I would say it works better for forums with more posts because otherwise any thread gets quickly buried no matter how popular they are.

How can i make a console application listen to a pressed key?
For example i want my application listen to ctrl+q keys.
Anyone got a suggestion please?
Thanks in advance!

Look into RegisterHotKey . I suggest you read on hooks and the SetWindowsHookEx function.

I don't think SetWindowsHookEx will be of much help in a console a application.

here is the thing
i am using PostMessage() to post several messages to a dialog box from several location
this works just fine but when i am holding the dialog - e.g. dragging it - the dialog doesn't feel that a message is being sent
i am using PreTranslateMessage() method to filter message
so what is wrong with posting message to a dialog that is being hold - dragged -
or if there is anything wrong, what is the solution for that
thanks alot u guys

The system has probably entered a modal loop, eating all messages except mouse-related ones
until the drag operation is complete.
You may need to handle the drag yourself - WM_NCLBUTTONDOWN, WM_NCLBUTTONUP, MoveWindow(), etc.
That way you can enter your own message loop and check for posted incoming custom messages.

How can i create my own namespace?
|
|
|
|
|
Like this:
namespace MyNamespace
{
}
|
|

I'm creating IE instance using this code:
m_lpBrowser.CreateInstance(CLSID_InternetExplorer);
m_lpBrowser->put_StatusBar(VARIANT_TRUE);
m_lpBrowser->put_ToolBar(VARIANT_TRUE);
m_lpBrowser->put_MenuBar(VARIANT_TRUE);
m_lpBrowser->put_Visible(VARIANT_TRUE);
IOleObjectPtr pOleObject;
pOleObject = (IUnknownPtr)m_lpBrowser;
the instance is created but problem is that I cannot get it's IOleObject
interface to set it's client site (QI returns 0x80004002 - no interface
although successfully I query for IUnknown first).
I need to navigate new instance to some url and provide login&password for
HTTP authentication.
What can be the problem with QI for IOleObject?
Thank you!
