Hi
I'm new to VB2005 and mobile programming especially using .net CF2.
At this moment I'm working to develop a GPS application. I'm having a problem to display GPS points which are in geographical coordinates (latitute and longitude or northing and easting). How to convert these coordinates into display/screen coordinate? Any basic example should be used to me.
Thanks.

Hello All,
Simple problem. I have a compact framework 2.0 app that I've created a strongly typed dataset with by simply dragging my tables from the server explorer onto my dataset designer screen. My problem lies in the fact that I get this table does not exist error anytime i try to actually use any of the adapters it has created for me. Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Ryan

Hi all
I have Visual studio 2003 with just c# installed I have to read in a access database and show it using the smart device application. I sort of know how to do it on a normal app but as soon as i enter using System.Data.OleDb It cannot find on the smart device library. Is there way to read in a database and show it using a smart device app.
i.e. is there something else i can use apart from OleDb that can be found in smart device library. Oh if this stupid question or it in the wrong form can you tell me that as well
Can any one help
Thanks in advance

Hi friends ,
I am not having sufficient knowledge about How to create the install files for PDA application.
i am trying to create a set up for PDA application ,for that i followed the steps from "http://www.codeproject.com/netcf/compframe4.asp" but i m getting prpoblems in following,
1) i m not able to add my application in a windows ,it gives error that the application u trying to add is of diffrent platform.
But as given on link "http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms838273.aspx" and "http://www.codeproject.com/netcf/compframe4.asp" it shows the author used a windows application for this.
2)It is given that we have to add "System.Configuration.Install.dll" to the custom installer application ,But i m not getting this dll when i m trying to add the reference.
3) I want my application to start automatically through ActiveSync whenever the device is cradeled to desktop system.
Any help is appreciated.............
Thanks,
Asifkhan.

I'm sure most of you have had this problem. OpenFileDialog in Windows CE is restricted to the "My Documents" directory level. Does anyone know of a quality go around that I can use. Need to get one fast for prototyping new portable PCs.

Hi All,
I was just trying to write a filter that would be able to decode and playback an H263 frame. I am able to succefully play the video however the FPS is coming down than what actually the video is suppose to be playing in.(Actual FPS of the clips is 30 and i am able to hit a max of 24fps.).
Can anyone let me know as to wat are the factors that need to be kept in mind to get the right FPS.

I want to draw arc in a deviceApplication project (Pocket pc 2003) but there is no DrawArc method!!! any ideas.

U can actually try out searchingfor something called GraphApp. this is an open source and is a platform independent UI kit. I guess they usesome algorithms to draw an arc and the only thing that they use in windows is fillrect.
Good luk

Drawing Arcs is pretty much a "no go" in the Compact Framework using GDI+. You can accomplish Arc's using GDI directly or you can look at XRossOne (on the Microsoft site) or GAPI (also on Microsoft). Both are basically wrappers around GDI. You can also look at DirectX on Mobile. GapiDraw is another option (commercial product - never used it...).
This of course adds dependencies to your application.
Another option is to use DrawEllipse and then 'Erase' those areas you dont want to display by repainting the background. This is a bit of a hack though.
I eventually decided that I would Chamfer the corners of my images and the results are reasonable but admittedly they are not arcs.
If you find a decent solution please respond at let me know.

David
