Here's the problem:
On the client site, they are able to open the login page in their browser, but the asp.net controls (textboxes, buttons) do not display. The table, labels, and an image on the login page all show up fine.

They are using windows XP Pro, IE 7.
I've had them install the .net framework, but it didn't help. I couldn't find anything in the browser settings that I think could cause this problem.

I'm pretty new with using ASP.net. Does anyone have any ideas of what else I can try?

Having .NET on the client machine is irrelevant, it doesn't need it. Have you tried a different browser? Have you checked the output to see if the HTML is even being rendered? Do you have code anywhere changing the controls visibility?

we do need the .net framework installed on the server machine though, right? For test purposes we're viewing the page from a browser on the same machine as the server (I should have been clearer about this).

There is no code changing the visibility of the controls.

How can I tell if the HTML is being rendered? I've tested this app on other machines, and the page displays correctly.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

FF: view->page source

And yes you need .NET installed on the server, you also need the web site set up as an ASP.NET website in IIS.

Thank you for your help.

I did some investigating and found that when the application was registered with IIS, it failed to add a mapping for .aspx files in the application configuration. (Not sure why -- maybe because we registered the app before installing .net framework??)

I ran the aspnet_regiis utility under "Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\[version]\aspnet_regiis -i" and that seems to have resolved the issue.

Maybe the .net framework didn't fully install? well, it was certainly a strange one...

You can't, you need to do it using Javascript.

You can embed windows or real media files in a web page but these days the best option is using a Flash player like youtube or google video. Don't know if theres ones freely available, have a look.

You haven't look hard enough.

There are a number of e-commerce stuff here, use their search facilities sourceforge.net[^] but not are all C# so you might have to convert some.

hello everybody

iam working on asp project here i need some datareport generated has to be exported to excel for this i wrote one dll and its working fine when i checked that using vb code but it is not working from the asp page?
i am unable to catch the error
its not giving any error and giving message as done (i placed as output)only
but it is not exporting to excel
can any body help
(not in asp.net its asp only)
