How could i print a web form in ASP.NET on Dotmetrix printer
IE6 takes its default print size A4 and it leaves the page,
what i want is the printer will stop after printing the form and the next job of printing will be print on same page.

I don't quite understand what the problem is? It being a dotmatrix printer has nothing to do with it (least no anything you can change). IE6 (or any browser) is pretty rubbish at formating web pages for print. You want to look at creating a CSS print style sheet.

Hi friends,
I have a web form with a ListView bound to a DataView. I need to fire the OnSelectedIndexChanged event to capture the index in the ListView in order to retrieve the data from the DataView.
The problem I have is that this event does not fires when I click on a different item in the LV. It only fires when I change its content by filtering the DV etc...
What is happening here?...Is this event not suppose to fires when a user change their selection in the LV?

hi i am developing a web basec app in c# using visual web dev
i have a listbox, that fills up dynamically on selection of a value of a drop down list.
now.. the items that are displayed in the listbox have multiple selection property..
Now on the click of the SUBMIT button.. i want all these selected items to be stored in a database.. obviously... i want an upper limit for the same.
now the items that are saved in the table were retrieved from another table..(using drop down box)...
PROBLEM
wat i want to ask is.. that how would i save the listbox items into the the table.. query????
secondly.. wen these items would be saved.. how would i retrieve their corresponding details from the other table.
thirdly.. any help in javascript to fix the upper limit.. need at client side..

Hi!
Well, you should read these listbox item by item and load the selected items in a array, then send this array element by element to the table in the database using sql statements.

i tried a lot, but no luck
i initialized a string type array with size 6.
string[] items = new string;
now how should i connect it with the listbox items.

(1) add one column in a user table (IsLocked)
(2) when user submit user name and password maintain a counter in session variable
(3) if counter is 3 then update the table with the IsLocked property true
and then show the message........
cheack each postback with the database if IsLocked propert true then show message and make the control disable.

Here i m just providing logic. I think this may be helpful to you.
Steps :
1. Declare a PWDCheck function which will recive username and pwd as an arguments.
2. Function will check the username and pwd against database userDetails table.
3. You have to declare a static variable, and increment the value of that variable, when pwd is invalid.
4. For locking the users a/c. In database, UserDetails table we should have a status variable for storing locking status.
5. If the value of the variable reaches to 3 then you update userdetails status variable to true.

How can u get server side ontextchanged event like in windows application ? ASP.NET web application. It need a post back to call events. So make autopostback property of textbox to true which will make postback automatically.
If you want to do this without posting back form, use javascript

i want write code for page loader in my application, i have written a page in that i am using XMLHTTP request,using that i am hitting to other url & output which i get from that i am showing using my page, in that it takes 5-8 sec or may be more,during that i want to show page loader,so that end user can read some message otherwise he has to see a blank page.

Hi All,
I'm facing a problem with the page postback.
Its like....I have a treeview control whose first three levels are populating on page load. The next levels are being populated on “treeview_treenodeexpanded” event ,based on certain criteria .But each time we expand it the page gets posted back, as it is the case. I want the postback to be blocked somehow and the tree nodes need to be populated on expand event only.
Is AJAX a solution for this? If so, how to implement this?
I hope someone can help me out with this.
