This should be set to 1 if you want autorun to work.

Do you have HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoDriveTypeAutoRun instead? In either case, see here for how to use it.

Hi,
I got a problem in setting the default icon for a custom file type
in window shell. For the DefaultIcon for a file extension, I set it to be
"C:\abc.ico" for the default value in the registry. But the icon settings only works for the files in the window desktop. For those files in other folders other than the desktop, the setting doesn't work. Why ?
Thanks

Hi,
I am having a problem getting the OnReceive notification to trigger in my client code. I debugged with TRACE statements and I find that the Receive is failing with the WSAEWOULDBLOCK error and then OnReceive is never being called. I should have data being delivered to the client but I can't say 100% that this is true. I didn't write the server code but it has been used before and is know to work.
m_pDASsocket = new CSPDSSSocket;
m_pDASsocket->Create(0,SOCK_STREAM, FD_READ | FD_CONNECT | FD_WRITE);
m_pDASsocket->m_pMain = (CMyGUIDlg*)this;
void CMyGUIDlg::OnBnClickedmfp()
{
PBYTE pBuf;
pBuf = new BYTE[8];
char startrecvchar = 100;
if(m_bSocketConnected)
{
m_pDASsocket->Send(&startrecvchar,1);
if ( m_pDASsocket->Receive(pBuf,8) == SOCKET_ERROR )
{
int iErr = WSAGetLastError();
if ( iErr == WSAEWOULDBLOCK )
{
TRACE("OnBnClickedmfp: WSAEWOULDBLOCK");
}
else
{
TRACE("OnBnClickedmfp: a ""bad"" error occurred and must be handled");
}
}
else
{
TRACE("OnBnClickedmfp: Receive succeeded");
}
}
delete [] pBuf;
}
I know that OnConnect and OnSend are getting called. I also know the server is receiving my Send. As far as I know the server is working correctly. I don't have any control over the server code but I know it's listening for connections and once connected I can send certain commands to start and stop data packet delivery. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,
Clint

Unlike OnConnect, OnReceive won't be called necessarily after a Receive() call fails with
WSAEWOULDBLOCK.
When Receive() fails with WSAEWOULDBLOCK error, that means no data has been sent to the socket.
If your OnReceive() override doesn't get called, that also means no data has been sent to the
socket.
OnReceive() is called to notify you that data has been received (it is buffered in the socket).
When you receive this notification, THEN you call Receive() to get the data from the socket.

I placed tab control with two dialog.i navigate tabs in control using tab key.after i moved to second tab i want set focus on dialog.how to do that.
How to transfer focus from tab to dialog.the dialog have edit boxes.i want to set focus on first edit box.

If you don't interfere with the processing of the TAB key messages then Windows will set the focus to the first control in the TAB order, and you set the tab order in the resource editor.
Note: If I recall correctly, you asked something like this the other day and you indicated that you were intercepting the TAB key messages.

Override WM_ERASEBKGND and simply return TRUE from it.
amitmistry_petlad wrote: second thing my conrols aren't resize e.g. listview control
You have to write code your self for that. This[^] article by Paolo Messina should give you some idea.

By the help of this example I can reach here bu the problem is below.
I explaine you,
for create the frame window and put some dialogs inside in the following way.
hInst = hInstance;
<big>hWndStatic</big>=CreateWindow(szWindowClass, szTitle, WS_SYSMENU | WS_MINIMIZEBOX | WS_THICKFRAME , CW_USEDEFAULT,CW_USEDEFAULT,1090,710,NULL,NULL,hInstance,NULL);
<big>hWndNavigator</big> = CreateDialog(hInst,MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDD_DIALOG_NAVIGATORORI),hWndStatic,(DLGPROC)NavigatorProc);
<big>hWndHeader</big> = CreateDialog(hInst,MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDD_DIALOG_HEADER),hWndStatic,(DLGPROC)HeaderProc);
hWndFooter = CreateDialog(hInst,MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDD_DIALOG_FOOTER),hWndStatic,(DLGPROC)FooterProc);
<big>hWndListview</big> = CreateDialog(hInst,MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDD_DIALOG_LISTVIEW),hWndStatic,(DLGPROC)GlobaListProc);
if (!hWndStatic)
{
return FALSE;
}
ShowWindow(hWndStatic, SW_SHOW);
ShowWindow(hWndNavigator,SW_SHOW);
ShowWindow(hWndHeader,SW_SHOW);
ShowWindow(hWndFooter,SW_SHOW);
ShowWindow(hWndListview,SW_SHOW);
UpdateWindow(hWndStatic);
Window_Center(hWndStatic);
BEGIN_SIZINGRULES(m_grip, hWndStatic)
ADDRULE(m_grip<big>,hWndListview</big>, RX)
ADDRULE(m_grip, <big>hWndHeader</big> , RX)
ADDRULE(m_grip,<big>hWndNavigator</big>, RY)
END_SIZINGRULES
return TRUE;
upon your given link I have already used that one and made the above
BEGIN_SIZINGRULES from that code, but Look at that very carefully , I have made it for windows not for control inside that window, I am inprocess of that but how can I find the clue that windows and controlId.
in the same code. if you might checked Mr.Paolo Messina example.

Dear All,
We need to create an application for folder selection dialog and we have creted using SHBrowseForFolder concept.Using this concept we were able to compile and run the application in Emulator.Whereas when we are trying to run the application in CEPC(x86 processor), it just hangs and shows the message as "Unknown: DEBUGCHK failed in file C:\WINCE500\PUBLIC\SHELL\OAK\HPC\CESHELL\API\.\api.cpp at line 385".It happens when the application issues the api SHBrowseForFolder.Can anyone suggest an idea to solve this problem.
Thanks in Advance.

Recently I study writing program about ListBox control,I ran up some diffculties.
1.I override the virtual funtion MeasureItem() to change the width of the item,I set a breakpoint in the funtion,but when I debug,the program don't run through the breakpoint.In other words,the result is that the width of the item didn't be changed:
void CMyListBox::MeasureItem(LPMEASUREITEMSTRUCT lpMeasureItemStruct)
{
lpMeasureItemStruct->itemHeight=32;
}
2.I override DrawItem() and add an funtion to initialze the item what is factly is a string.In the funtion DrawItem() I used TextOut() to output what I initialized,but the program appeared a warning.When I run the program,the listbox's item is not the words I initialized:
void CMyListBox::PreSubclassWindow()
{
InitData();
CListBox::PreSubclassWindow();
}
BOOL CMyListBox::InitData()
{
if(m_Inited)
return TRUE;
CString s("OK");
AddString(s);
AddString("1");
m_Inited=TRUE;
return TRUE;
}
void CMyListBox::DrawItem(LPDRAWITEMSTRUCT lpDrawItemStruct)
{
....
if(nIndex != (UINT)-1)
{
//Draw th item.
InflateRect(&rect,-2,-2);
dc.TextOut(rect.left+4,rect.top+2,
lpDrawItemStruct->itemData); //warning
}
....
}
|
|
|
|
|
I forgot to tell that I have set the ListBox' properties:
BOOL CMyListBox::PreCreateWindow(CREATESTRUCT& cs)
{
if(!CListBox::PreCreateWindow(cs))
return FALSE;
cs.dwExStyle |=WS_EX_CLIENTEDGE;
cs.style &= ~(LBS_OWNERDRAWVARIABLE | LBS_SORT);
cs.style |= LBS_OWNERDRAWFIXED;
return CListBox::PreCreateWindow(cs);
}
|
|
|
|
|
IT_DOER wrote: return CListBox::PreCreateWindow(cs);
Here this line is unnecessary. Change it to return TRUE;
You need to mention what warnings are generated by compiler. And if your list box is Ownerdrawn, MeasureItem should be called.
|
|
|
|
|
the warning's content is this:
warning C4244: 'argument' : conversion from 'unsigned long' to 'char', possible loss of data
I have tried many methods of initializing the data,for example,
BOOL CMyListBox::InitData()
{
if(m_Inited)
return TRUE;
CString s("OK");
AddString(s);
//or
//AddString((LPCTSTR)s);
//or
//AddString("OK");
m_Inited=TRUE;
return TRUE;
}
Whether I shouldn't use the TextOut to output the data?
I have checked that the listbox's properties of "OwnerDraw" is set "Fixed",however,I don't know why the MeasureItem don't be called.
