Where you in the code view when this happened?
|
|
|
|

I think that might be possible that i was.
I was doing a few things, then went to add a table adapter to the form when I noticed they where not there.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Steve

This happens to me too. If you aren't in the form view part (eg. you are in code view) then you cannot add any objects because you need to be the form view to do so.
So if you go into form view then the table adapter should be there.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I ready know that about the code view.
However, the problem is when I switch to design view, the toolbox displays all the tools, apart from the project's components.
Thanks for anymore advice,
Steve

I think I know the problem now
Open VS 2005 (if not already open)
then
goto:
1.Tools
2.Choose toolbox items
3.Then search for the table adapters and tick the checkbox and then it should be displayed again.
Hope this helps!

I know what you mean. But i've not had this problem before. Have you changed anything manually in the .designer.vb that could have affected this? I'm not sure though. So you can't just drag and drop your created datasets etc? Frustrating.

Hello,
I have never had this problem before.
However, adding the all the components manually would be a long task as there are many of them. And I would have to check to make sure I have all them. I don't think that would be a good idea.
Any other ideas would be most grateful
Thanks
Steve

I've had this happen once before. I had to right-click the Toolbox (in Design view), pick "Reset Toolbox", then quit Visual Studio. Get back in and do a full rebuild of the Solution.

Hi guys,
how can I set a hourglass during a process?
Thanks
|
|
|
|
|
Somthing like this maybe?
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As<br />
System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click<br />
<br />
' save the old cursor<br />
Cursor oldCursor = Me.Cursor;<br />
<br />
' change the cursor to the one you want<br />
Me.Cursor = Cursors.WaitCursor<br />
<br />
' do your work here<br />
<br />
' restore the old cursor or else you may never get it back<br />
Me.Cursor = oldCursor<br />
<br />
End Sub
|
|
|
|
|
Hi,
There is actually no need to save the cursor to memory.
<br />
Me.Cursor = CType(Cursors.WaitCursor, Cursor)<br />
'Your process starts here<br />
'Your process happens here<br />
'Your process finishes here<br />
Me.Cursor = CType(Cursors.Default, Cursor)<br />
Have fun,
Johan
My advice is free, and you may get what you paid for.

All you have to do is set the Cursor property.
Me.Cursor = Cursors.WaitCursor
' You might have to do this, depending on your code...
Application.DoEvents()
'
' Long running code goes here...
'
Me.Cursor = Cursors.Default

Hi @ all,
Greez,
David

What i want to do is to know where an user save a file or the full path of file in the temporary folders of internet explorer.
I have made a plug in in IE with can catch the HTML Document itself, catch the event NavigateComplete, DownloadComplete, ... ( events and methods of WebBrowser object), but i don't have the information of filename.
Can anyone help me ?

in database primary key column is autonumber, if there are no records it should be displayed as 1 in textbox, if there records then it should display rows count+1 in textbox.

TextBox1.Text=Rowcount+1

I am developping a window form application in VB.NET.
The program will run from a CD.
The hierarchy of the files is as following:
[Drive Letter]:\AppName.exe
[Drive Letter]:\PDF\PDFName.pdf
I would like to open the pdf file.
IN VB6 I had to use:
1. Findexecutable API that return the path of the acrobat program that open the PDF.
2. Shell function to open the file.
3. App.path & "\PDF\PDFName.pdf" to locate the file on the CD
Please help in VB.NET

All you have to do is launch the PDF file and it'll open in the default PDF viewer. You can get the drive letter very easily using Application.StartupPath:
Dim appPath As String = Application.StartupPath
Dim pathToPdf As String = Path.Combine(Path.GetPathRoot(appPath), "PDF\PDFName.pdf")
DIm proc As Process = Process.Start(pathToPdf)
