I would go ahead and leave all the data in the DataTable. Then you can take the DataView from the DataTable and filter it.
So in C# it would be:
DataView dv = yourDataTable.DefaultView;
dv.RowFilter = "branchid = " + textbox1.Text;
vb.net
dim dv as DataView = yourDataTable.DefaultView
dv.RowFilter = "branchid = " + textbox1.Text
Then when you set your datasource and your datagrid you set it to the dv var you have created. Then do a DataBind on the datagrid.
The only other option is to pass a parameter into your command object to limit the rows coming back from the database.
Hope that helps.

I guess the simplest would be to write an .exe, which you can then schedule using task scheduler...a slightly more elegant approach would be to code up a windows service (that's how I've done it in the past)...or alternatively, you can schedule SQL server jobs to run at a specific time...

Response.Clear();
Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=signature.gif");
Response.ContentType = "image/gif";
Response.Write(bmp.ToString());
Response.End();
bmp.Dispose();
the dialog pops open but when I save the file it generates a file but its no the image its an empty object. How do I prompt the user the save dialog for this bitmap?

Hey,
Having a bit of a problem using vbscript and asp to set the encoding of an email subject.
We've managed to correctly set the body encoding using:
With objMessage.Bodypart ' Initialize the bodypart to support UTF-8
.ContentMediaType = "text/plain"
.Charset = "utf-8"
End With
And this sends fine, with the body text nicely displayed as greek, however the mail subject is still not coming out correctly, the greek characters are not displayed...
Any of you international jet setters out there come across this before?

Hi Guys,
i would like to give access to a windows nt group only to one web page in the web application, rest of the pages won't be accessible to this windows NT Group.
I can set this group to grant authorisation in the web.config file's authorisation section <Allow roles = 'Group name'/>
</authorisation>
But this will grant access to all the web pages and I don't want to check the group name in each page.
Is there a easy way to restrict acess to only one web page for this windows group.
Thanks in advance.
happy coding!

|
|
|
|
You need to add a location element to your web.config
<location path="yourpage or subdirectory goes here">
<system.web>
<authorisation>
...
That allows you to set the security for one page or sub directory.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
I want to generate PIN number that contains 10 alphanumeric keywords.
e.g.first four keywords are alphabets and others are numbers.
GFNK100001 like that. That PIN number is save for 1st record.
For 2nd record GFNK will be same but after that alphabets numbers should appears in such manner that they should not be same as we used previously and it will take random number from 1000000 to 200000.
Please help me.
Thanks,
|

so you want a randomly generated number between 1.000.000 and 200.000 to add to the string "GFNK".
And you want it to be unique.
let me suggest this:
1. generaet a random number in this range
2. check to see if it has been used before
yes: then go back to 1.
no: continue
3. add "GFNK" to your random number, and live happily ever after.

Visual Studio can't evaluate this, can you?

__set { moo = value; }<br />

I develop in asp1.1 & asp2.0 with ajax. Occasionally I have to do some legacy asp junk but for the most part it is now asp2.0. I am still running IE6 and was wondering if anyone had any issues with moving to IE7. We also use ActiveReports from the legacy 2.0 to current version for asp2.0.
Thanks,
Michael
