You don't have to keep track of how nested a menu item is, as long as you give each item a unique ID.
BTW it's "comes" not "cums"

Adding my two cents, don't use "cums" because it has a derogatory connotation! Also, it is better to say you have a "question about a menu item", and not a "doubt on a menu item".

Unfortunately, everyone has their own perception of perfect English. So to speak, I doubt perfect English will ever be spoken. Or, should I question that?

[MFC]Why everything should start from CObject? What's the need?

CObject is the common base class which makes many of the features of MFC possible, including
(from the docs):
Serialization support
Run-time class information
Object diagnostic output
Compatibility with collection classes

I am creating a simple launcher for quake2 in mfc where i want to launch it with "quake2.exe +set maxclients 16" etc.
I am only familiar with shellexecute, but i have problems launching anything with arguments, is there anything built in mfc or a c++ function i could use to launch with arguments?
Thanks.

Actually ShellExecute allows you to specify application parameters. What are you doubts about?

Official MS certification for MFC seems to have been available until early last year. See this[^] blog entry. Not sure if they've renewed the offering.

Hi!
I made a server program in C. Users can access my server using telnet and they can log in. My problem is the following: when user writes password I have to hide it in the client, but I can't do that.
I tried google and I have read a lot of telnet RFC , but I could'nt find the correct answer. RFC318 says: I have to send a decimal 133 code (HIDE-YOUR-INPUT) to client, but it isn't work...;(
Can somebody help me?
thx a lot: LD

Dear friends,
I have a CString object, say str ,and i want to know how to extract a specific set of characters from this str and store it in another CString object. Does there exist any function/ class for that?

Maybe CString::FindOneOf will be of some help. See MSDN for related documentation.

Hi All,
I do a project by using ADO+ACCESS+VC,
1. Reterive data from DB
2. Analyzing the data and calculate the new result, and the results are not the recordset.
3. Display the result on the UI.
while now I meet some difficulties.Requirement like the following:
1. Dynamic identity the total row and col num;
2. The grid should have Expand and Collapse function which can hide or show data in the same type.
3. Because the data is newly generated while not only reterived from db, so i have to write them down to the grid one by one.
Anyone can help me out??
Thanks in advance.

I am writing a backup program -- and would like to be able to backup large files. I don't want to run into any sort of sharing violations...
Is it possible for me to watch the file system, in order to monitor what files are being open in the system?
I'd like to abort the operation if someone wants access to the current file.
