I am now creating a vb.net windows form manually by creating textfiles and rename it to vb.net extension(eg. .vb, .Designer.vb and .resx).
Do there have a way to load this form from any path(location) without needing to add or include this form into the project solution?
Thanks.

Where do you want to load it from ? I don't think you can create a form class without a solution, although you can create web apps that way.

Let say I have a form Form1(include in solution), when I click a button 'Create' in Form1, it will create 3 textfile(Form2.vb, Form2.designer.vb, Form2.resx) on the fly which is Form2(not include in solution) located in the same location of Form1.
How do I dynamically load Form2, since Form2 is not included in solution?

When you create the web service in your windows or web app there is a Timeout property that you can set. It is in miliseconds, so 1 second = 1000. I think if you change this to a larger value you won't get a timeout.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
Use the following SQL,
select * from tablename where datepart(yy, [date])=2006 and datepart(mm, [date])=3
it will select all the records having year 2006 nad month 3 depending upon clolumn DATE.

Hello,
I have added one setup project to my already existing vb.net application.
in this i have included uninstallation routine to uninstall application from
program menu.
Added the following code:
Dim arguments As String() = Environment.GetCommandLineArgs()
Dim argument As String
For Each argument In arguments
If argument.Split("=")(0).ToLower = "/u" Then
Dim guid As String = argument.Split("=")(1)
Dim path As String = _
Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.System)
Dim si As New ProcessStartInfo(path & _
"\msiexec.exe", "/x " & guid)
Process.Start(si)
Close()
Application.Exit()
End
End If
Next
If i mention the path as C:\Program files\MyFiles\MyApp while installing the setup, then how i could i retrieve the same path using above code.
which statement is that. Here i have to remove MyApp Folder with all files which consists of file created after running the exe.
I have added one custom action and beneath its uninstall folder, i added Primary output and sets its argument property to "u" "[TARGETDIR]\".
Please tell at the earliest how the path can be obtain from argument list.
Any help would be highlty appreciated.
Thanks.

I'd guess that your variable names suck.
It's hard to say more, b/c you didn't tell us what the error is, or what line it occurs on.

Why on earth would you post an image to a site that shows it to me resized so I can't read it, instead of pasting the text in here ?
It looks like an argument exception ( hard to read ), what is the value of the text going in ? Did you set a breakpoint ?

Yeah, that makes sense
xmen_xwk wrote: no i dont use any breakpoint ever
Do you mean you don't know how ? F9 gives you a breakpoint, the code will stop when it reaches it, and you can examine the state of variables, etc.

The error says "empty path name is not legal". The text property of lkj is returning an empty string. You need to supply a file to be written too. StreamWriter will not accept an empty string.

|
|
|
|
yeah you are right the textbox is empty but man i want to write "ssss" in the textbox
|
|
|
|
|
You don't need a textwriter for that. What you are attempting to do with your code is write the text "sssss" to a file on your harddrive. The file to be written to would be whatever the path is in the textbox. If you want to set the text of the textbox just use:
lkj.text = "ssss"

yeah buddy, i know this , i want to do this in another way,
my whole problem is that ,i create an application in which Richtextbox contains about 10 lines of numbers
eg.
10
121
153....
and i want to add the textbox`s number which will be enter by user in every line thats why i was asking for textwriter

It took you 5 and a half hours to FINALLY describe what your trying to do with this instead of insisting that you need a TextWriter. You don't. If all you want to do is add the Text typed in by the user to the RTB, then all you have to do is:
myRTB.AppendText(myTextBox.Text & Environment.NewLine)
