Hi All,
I have a web service that uses COM objects.
On most computes it works fine. But on some, when it tries to create the COM object, an error occurs:
Error creating COM object-Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {5B73CCB7-1371-11D3-910B-00C0F02C639B} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 800aea5f.
The web services are running under user ASPNET. ASPNET, but default, is linked only to the Users group. If I link it to the Administrators group it works OK, but I don't want to do that.
In the past I had a similar problem and found that the directories my COM objects were in did not have for some reason Execute or Write access to the Users group. when I gave permission for these folders the problem was solved.
But now I have (well, the customer has) servers with the correct security permissions for all folder, but still the error occurs.
Any idea anyone?

Found it! 
My COM object is using an ODBC Data Source enry to open a connection to the database.
On the server where the error occurs, the SQL Server DSN Authentication is configured to use "With Windows NT authentication using the network login ID".
On the server where there is no error, the SQL Server DSN Authentication is configured to use "With SQL Server authentication".

How do we hide data or encrypt if we want to use XML format to store our data like the UserID and Password.
And moreover is alright if I use XML files to store sensitive data...

u can store data in xml by encrypting your data. using any algorithms.
MD5 or any custom.

I have a page with a textbox and a button. The button opens a dialog where the user selects a customer account number from a grid.
Once the selection is made, the dialog should close and the textbox on the parent page should now display the customer account number.
I did some research (I'm using ASP.Net 2.0) and it seems like I want to use something like this on the parent page:

So I guess I would set the customer account field on the dialog and then close it ?

Hello All!
I'm working in VS 2005/VB.NET. There seems to be alot of ways to this. I'm just looking to open up a pdf file from a server. I don't have to modify or save it. I just need to view it in the web page. Can somebody show me or point me to a quick of doing this.

if you are doing it server side code use response.redirect(pathWithFilename.pdf)
and on clicent you can just give a link/button and open the pdf file like a href='http:\\url\file.pdf'

you can try this : convert the file into byte array,set the Response.ContentType to application/pdf and do a binary write

Hi,
I have a GridView with a TemplateField. The one control in the TemplateField is an ImageButton. It's a "Delete" button. The TemplateField and it's ImageButton are defined in the aspx page. However, there are some columns within the GridView that are being dynamically added, but not the TemplateField. It seems to bind and load fine on initial load of the page. Once the Delete button is clicked, though, the page does post back, but the ImageButton disappears and neither the GridView_RowCommand or ImageButton_Click events are triggered. In debugging I find the ImageButton is found on initial load during GridView_RowDataBound, but is not found (null), during the same event during PostBack. It also doesn't seem to matter whether, or not, I'm binding the GridView only during the initial load (!IsPostBack) or all the time. Is adding the other columns dynamically causing this? If so, how do I get around it? What am I missing?

Usually, when I button is there initially and then disappears it is because it is defauled to visible = false in the UI / html. Then someplace in the page load probably in a
!IsPostBack the visible is set to true. That is usually where I have had my trouble with these things.

Afraid that's not the case here. The ImageButton is not set to Visible=false in the aspx and the visibility is not changed at all anywhere in the code-behind.
