I tempted to tell you that,
but it will definitely hamper your growth as professional. No offense intended. But,consider this as advice, MSDN is best soultion to 90 % of problems. But, you are not using it at all. And its very annoying, if you are asking such a question, that could be easily solved on your own. it makes clear that, you dont want/or dont have time to read carefully. Learn to explore things on your own, this is how you will catch up the fast changing technologies.
In this particular case, all information about compatibility of API will be avilable at Requirements section, down below in MSDN description of that API .

You need to have windows multimedia installed for that. I think its there on your machine. Just mention winmm.lib in linker option.

Hi,
i try to give my application a touch of beauty LOL
At the moment it flickers a lot. I tried to put ModifyStyle(0,WS_CLIPCHILDREN); into my base View
All my views are derived from UniView which is derived from CFormView. I added CLIP_CHILDREN to UniView.
The view doesn't flicker anymore, and the controls slides smoothly
But there is still a little problem. The background of the view will not be redrawn.
So the background is filled with "old control textures"
I tried already UpdateWindow() at the end of the Sizing, but without effect
Does anyone known a solution?
Big thanks

Some times, handling WM_ERASEBKGND to return TRUE (do nothing there) does the trick.

Thanks for the advice, but it's still the same
I thinks it's more the more that the background is not redrawn.
At the place of the background, the old textures of the controls are still displayed

I have the following structure :
Frame -> View(1) -> TabControl -> View(2)
does the WS_CLIPCHILDREN of the first view affect the non-drawing of the background of the sub-view?
I don't think so, because i testet with a CLIPCHILDREN only in the second view

Add a message map entry for each menu whose click you want to handle...
ON_COMMAND( cmdId, CmdHandlerFuncPtr )

SetFont is CWnd member function. So, there is no problem using same for CWnd or derived class object.

Hi all,
I'm trying to delete a file, I'm doing the following:
char attFName[50]={0};
strcpy(attFName, "C:\\dir\\");
strcat(attFName, fileName);
BOOL rc = DeleteFile((LPCTSTR)attFName);
But the DeleteFile function returns FALSE.
So then I took attFName and placed it into "Run", and it opened the file.
Can anyone please help?
Many Thanx

The (LPCTSTR) cast is not needed and should be removed; there is little point (and some danger for maintenance programmers) in casting something to the type it already is, especially when unsafe C-style casts are used.
