Sounds good.

I love CP but this issue has been bugging me for a while.
When I click on links to articles from the newsletter, the width is such that about 4 inches of text require scrolling to the right to read the articles. Very annoying, and width=100% would be SO much nicer. It seems like its the same extra amount as the width of the ad on the left sidebar, which is strange (so it feelds like width=130%).
Does anyone see that same issue? Sometimes finding the same article through the website doesnt do that, but almost always clicking to it from the newsletter (even stranger).
Normal setup - IE7, 1280x1024.
This bugs me alot, effects every artice read. Wish I could attach a screenshot.
Thanks in advance.
Brad

Some of the Unedited articles have lines of code that are too wide and need wrapping. If there's a specific article that's scrolling too wide then click the "Broken Article" link and we'll deal with it

Please disable this. It means that all html code samples are sent and interpreted, making them a real pain to read.
(By emails I meant personal emails by clicking the | Email ] thing.)

Didja try the checkbox on your user settings page?

It appears that everybody is under the impression that I approve of the documentation. You probably also blame Ken Burns for supporting slavery.

I presume that the forum options (e.g. messages per page and all that) are stored in a cookie since they don't seem to persist very long on my computer which frequently has the cache cleared etc.
I'm just suggesting that if possible (maybe in the "rewrite" ) that these options are moved to the table which stores user information etc. It would also have the added benefit that I can have the same settings across the multiple computers I access CP through.

Yes, this is something I've been meaning to add for a long, long time now.

, BTW is there a planned release date for this big re-write or is it a Microsoft-like release schedule?

Internally, yes, but externally no. There's just no point in putting anymore pressure on the team than is necessary. It's taken so long to be able to get in the position where we have the luxury to concentrate solely on the rewrite that getting it done ASAP has become stressful in it's own right. We'd rather make sure we get it right and wait a few more weeks than rush something out.
I'd say it will be done Q2 2007

Just in time for my four weeks in hospitalised isolation, I'll have plenty of time to find bugs then

Actually, just search. Any chance we could have an option to search only on topmost posts? On occasion, I need to find a person's post that I know was top-level. Going through the list is usually tedious.

Isn't there already a Posts only selection under Search for?

I suggest this[^] section (C# Windows Forms) be retired as it doesn't seem to contain any articles.

Is there a way to find these subcategories aside from changing the URL?

I would say that this message 'Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page' should be a DIV popup instead of JavaScript. That way, CP can include a checkbox 'Don't show this warning in future'. These settings can later be revisited from User Profile settings.
