It sounds as though you might want to start with a few less-ambitious projects first.

Hi all,
When I tried to build my windows application, it gave me following error.
Linking...
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\LIB\LIBCD.lib : fatal error LNK1127: library is corrupt
Error executing link.exe.
Can anyone tell me how to resolve the error. I tried reinstalling Visual Studio, but It didn't work.
Thanks for the prompt reply.

It's strange. It seems that your installation is broken. :-/
Try to search web for LIBCD.lib and download other version.

I tried to search libcd.lib on microsoft site, but I didn't get it. You are right that there is some problem and might be my copy of Visual studio is corrupted. Is there any other solution ?
Thanks for reply.

Well, here is the problem.
There is an application, which is using the text output via standard Windows functions/fonts.
I need to hook this output. I want to know, ALL text the specific application is drawing. The application doesn't use any Windows elements (such as windows/buttons/etc). It has only a graphic canvas and outputting the gfx/text there.
So, where can I find the solution?

The easiest solution would be to make wrapper functions to do the text output and change all the raw text output calls to use your wrappers. The wrapper would implement some notification mechanism in addition to delegating to the raw text output methods. If that’s not possible you could try a Google search on “IAT patching” – assuming you’re not using loading the relevant DLLs dynamically.

Why in the world would you want to do that by hand when using the app wizard would take less than 30 seconds to make what you're asking for?
Maybe you've been smoking a little too much jomba weed.

While reading earlier posts, I found another guy asking exactly the same question (creating a dialog-based app without using appwizard). This leads me to believe that you guys are in a class, and this is a homework assignment.

Not a problem at all. I take credit cards, cash or cashiers checks. My fee for doing your homework is $500 plus a $250 one time setup fee.
Why is common sense not common?
