I have the same problem. It is, after some googlare skills, a microsoft issue. They updated the HHCTRL.OCX control (which is the HTML helper), which uses the same address range as user32.dll.
I guess a new fix for that came out already.. try doing windowsupdate again.

i'm now designing a linker for a software language..,for that i need to know about the linker structure..,how .obj files are linked to create .exe file(PE format file)...
any help..,thanx n advance..

Wow
This is non trivial.
The MS Linker expects to see .OBJ, .DLL or .LIB files (amongst others) as input.
If you create a valid .OBJ or .DLL file then it will link fine.
Creating these files (as a compiler does) requires a lot of intricate code and is a significant part of any language compiler.
Microsoft document this in great detail in their MS COFF dicumentation (available online)
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/firmware/PECOFF.mspx[^]
Bear in mind that this now includes 32-bit and 64-bit support.

Bugs can neither be created nor be removed from software by a developer. They can only be converted from one form to another. The total number of bugs in the software always remain constant.

Only if the CPU is a 64-bit CPU that is supported by Vista.

I would like to know how to prevent broadcasting between two NICs (NIC X 192.168.xx.1, NIC Y 192.168.yy.1)in Windows XP? I have a PC with two NICs in different VLAN. I found that many traffics in 192.168.xx.0 are generated by ip address of its NIC Y 192.168.yy.1. The source mac address of the traffics are its NIC X. The destination of the traffics are mac address FFFFFFFFFFFF.
So I would like to prevent it! Please help!
|
|
|
|
|
Which broadcasts are these?
i guess it will be your normal "NetBIOS announcements". If possible (and wont break anything), remove the "client for windows networks" on it.
|
|
|
|
|
Is it can prevent NIC X to forward the traffic that the NIC Y 192.168.yy.1 to send packets to 255.255.255.255?
Please help!
|
|
|
|
|
Well.. how do you see that this broadcast is going to the other subnet?
It would be very stupid for Microsoft to broadcast your presence coming from an IP to a network which will only route it onwards.
A packet of 192.168.xx.1 will never arrive anywhere on 192.168.yy.0/24 ....
How are you determine the delivery of this packet? Are you using a sniffer?
|
|
|
|
|
Something like sniffer!
It may be due to a class management software, it will generate the boardcast frame periodically. But it always send to 192.168.xx.1.

Use router instead of 2 network card. Router will block broadcast by default.

The reason of using 2 network card is used to send a lot of data in a isolated network without affect the real network. The PC with two network card is the PC of teacher. So we can't use router instead of it.

Is it win2003? i think the localstart.asp(x?) is protected from outside users.
Are you accessing localhost?
Otherwise, make sure you have the proper permissions..

There are various PS2 emulators, but using the ROM's required is illegal due to copyright law. This also applies to all recent games consoles. If you are unsure, ask the manufacturer.

Hi Forum,
I am looking for application that could block another application when loading. Now on messenger like Yahoo and MSN are everywhere in my office. Some of them use it for official communication but the rest just for fun which of course decrease work performance. The management doesn't want to block all the user but some of them should be.
Does anyone knows what kind of application to help me or other references for developing small application would be appreciate as well
Regards,

Are you in an Active directory? If so, try Group Policy
I guess you could prevent these programs from being installed, and started. MSN messenger will be a bit harder to remove, since it's MS idea of world domination. But Yahoo should not be much of a problem..

hi all
thanx alot for this grate codes and projects
i want your help in assigement by C
i tried in it but there is always a wrong outputs!!!
can i get help?
this is the problem ;
1. Description
This assignment is to be done individually. Write a C language program to implement multithreaded matrix multiplication using Pthreads as described at the end of chapter 4 (page 149) in the textbook, with the following differences:
• Create a separate worker thread to compute each row of the result matrix, instead of a thread for each element.
• Do not initialize the contents of the A and B matrices statically. The A and B matrices will be initialized by reading data from an input file (see notes below). A seperate input file will be tried for your assignment grading. You can create your own test data for debugging and testing your program beforehand.
• (optional) Be able to process multiple sets of input matrices by continuing to read data in the specified format (described below) until you encounter an input line containing a single hash mark (‘#’) instead of an integer value for M (first dimension of the A matrix). If any other character than a hash mark is specified, output an error message and terminate the program with a non-zero return code. Each set of data processed must be labeled to indicate which set of data is being output (e.g., Set 1, Set 2, etc).
2. Input and Output
The input file will be an ASCII file containing numbers that define the dimensions and contents of the A and B matrices for which a matrix product is to be computed. The first line of the input file will contain two numbers specifying the dimensions of the A matrix (M x K). Following that will be M lines, each with K numbers, representing the elements of matrix A. Next will be a line with two numbers specifying the dimensions of the B matrix (K x N). And following that will be K lines, each with N numbers, representing the elements of matrix B. For example, suppose that matrix A has 2 rows and 3 columns and matrix B has 3 rows and 4 columns, as follows:
Your program should print the contents of matrix A and matrix B. It should then print lines showing the thread ID numbers for the worker threads it creates. Then it should print the contents of the result matrix C. The output from your program for the above input should look similar to the following:
Set 1 Matrix A:
1 2 3
4 5 6
Set 1 Matrix B:
3 5 7 9
8 6 4 2
4 3 2 1
Created worker thread 15823744 for row 0
Created worker thread 26375040 for row 1
Set 1 Matrix C = A x B:
31 26 21 16
76 68 60 52
2. Implementation
The project description in the textbook contains a number of implementation hints. In addition, the source code for the sample program shown in the book on page 133 can be found in online. It demonstrates the usage of Pthreads functions for simple thread creation.
You will need at least the following include files:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <pthread.h>
You may assume that matrices will have a most 10 rows and 10 columns. You may use global variables for sharing memory among the threads. In order to successfully compile your program, you will need to specify some options for Pthreads on the gcc command as follows:
cc -pthread -lpthread assign2.c
Be sure to adequately comment your program, and pay attention to format, program structure, and programming style.
Notes:
• In the above example output, the Thread ID value is actually an address of an opaque thread data structure that is implementation dependent on each OS version (e.g., Unix, Linux, etc). To get to the actual thread number would make your program non-portable! That is, the actual Id number is saved in different places in the data structure on different systems. For the purposes of this assignment, simply getting the unique address of the thread data structure is sufficient. You will see the same address, perhaps in different orders, over and over as you iterate through each set of matrix data since the system reuses the same storage for creating and deleting threads during execution. Likewise, you will see the same address if you simply create a thread, terminate it and then create another new thread (i.e,. you must create at least two threads, running at the same time, before you will see a different address (Thread ID) listed).

I am trying to get a value of a certain registry key and store it in a char array. I do it like this:
<br />
char buf[4096];<br />
HKEY pHKey,dKey;<br />
LONG tmp_reg1 = RegOpenKeyEx(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,"Software",0,KEY_READ,&pHKey);<br />
if((tmp_reg1 != ERROR_SUCCESS) || (pHKey == NULL))<br />
throw(string("No proper registry key (1)"));<br />
LONG tmp_reg2 = RegOpenKeyEx(pHKey,"CyberLink",0,KEY_READ,&dKey);<br />
if((tmp_reg2 != ERROR_SUCCESS) || (dKey == NULL))<br />
throw(string("No proper registry key (2)"));<br />
LONG tmp_reg3 = RegGetValue(dKey,"PowerDVD","InstallDir",RRF_RT_REG_SZ,(LPDWORD)REG_SZ,buf,(LPDWORD)sizeof(buf));<br />
if(tmp_reg3 != ERROR_SUCCESS)<br />
throw(string("No proper registry key (3)"));<br />
However, when I start the application, it crashes giving me the following error (My Windows is in Polish so I do not know if I translate it properly) :
Unable to find entrance point of the procedure RegGetValueA in library ADVAPI32.DLL
I use Windows XP Home Edition, SP2, Visual Studio Express 2005.
Thanks in advance
