You can't use it as a dataset because HTML is not a valid dataset. You can try to parse the HTML file and pick out the data you want, but this is really tedious. You'd be better off using an actual DataSet or having the second form query for the data itself.
The answer is pretty generic because the question is generic. There's no specification on what you're trying to do with this.

Thats true, my question was pretty generic and I'm sorry about that. I'm newbie to posting questions. But I understand what you're saying. Thats how I was originally going to do it, but I thought there might be an easier, or different, way to do it... guess not. Thanks for your input!

Hello,
VS 2005
This works but i am wondering is there a better way to do this. I will be having combo boxes, text boxes, buttons and list boxes and labels.
The layout of each tab will be the same. As the user click add task it will add a new tab the controls will be added and some controls will be bounded by tables in a database.
The user will then add some data into some of the text boxes and click save. The contents will be saved to the database.
My code is below and this is just a start. If anyone know of a better more efficient then I will be happy to learn from them.
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click<br />
Me.TabControl1.TabPages.Add("Index1", "Task 123")<br />
End Sub<br />
<br />
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click<br />
Dim cboClients As New ComboBox<br />
cboClients.Top = 30<br />
cboClients.Left = 30<br />
AddHandler cboClients.SelectionChangeCommitted, AddressOf ComboBox_selectionChangeCommitted<br />
<br />
cboClients.Parent = Me.TabControl1.TabPages(1) 'Add the combo box the specified tab<br />
End Sub<br />
<br />
Private Sub ComboBox_selectionChangeCommitted(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)<br />
'Fill the combo box<br />
End Sub
Many thanks in advance,
Steve

I don't see anything wrong with doing that way. It looks good.
Trinity: Neo... nobody has ever done this before.
Neo: That's why it's going to work.

I am having a problem with the application I am working on. I have a tabcontrol with several tabpages. It seems that none of the bound child controls on the tabpages is populated until the parent tabpage is selected. When the user selects a record from an index I query several tables and the child controls on all the tabpages are changed (or should). I have some editing that I want to do based on values of the child controls. However the child controls all have null values until I select their parent page. Is there a way to force the tabcontrol to populate all of it’s bound child controls.

vb.net
URGENT!
i am loading data from an access-database like this:
<br />
dim MyConnection As String = "Provider= Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=MyDatabase.mdb;"<br />
dim connStr As String = "SELECT * FROM table1"<br />
dim odc As OleDbConnection= New OleDbConnection(MyConnection )<br />
dim oda As OleDbDataAdapter= New OleDbDataAdapter(connStr, odc)<br />
dim odb As OleDbCommandBuilder= New OleDbCommandBuilder(oda)<br />
dim dat As DataTable= New DataTable("MyDatatable")<br />
dim bmb As BindingManagerBase<br />
<br />
odc.Open()<br />
oda.Fill(dat)<br />
odc.Close()<br />
<br />
bmb = Me.BindingContext(dat)<br />
datagrid1.DataSource = dat<br />
now i want to use a password-protected database. where do i have to insert the password in the example above? (i know that i shouldn't write the password into my code, but the file doesn't contain critical data. i just want to prevent, that user's messing up the file)
and please, i need a solution for this example, not another way of connecting to the mdb-file, since i don't want to rewrite half of my project.
thanks.

Hello
In your connection string:
dim MyConnection As String = "Provider= Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=MyDatabase.mdb;persist Security Info=False;Jet OLEDB:Database Password=sysadm"
Where sysadm is your password.
Tip: Don´t use that password

as far as the database(sql serve is concerned). u need to export the database file manually to the client end.
framework is the dependency so just add it to ur deployment project.
hope this will help u.

I have a window application from which i need to transfer documents to my server.
Now the easy way is to make a shared folder on server and provide access on it and then copy the file there
or
make an FTP program
But since it will be used only in intranet and only by us so there is no need for FTP.
Is there a way i move file from a system to server like web uploads.

Only if you have a server that exposes such functionality. If you're sure this will only be used internal to your network, then you just create a Share on the server and use the standard File Copy routines to do whatever you need to.

Hi
How to capture windows shutdown event in vb.net
Thanks in advance

System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("shutdown", "-s")
hope this will help u.

The closest you're going to get in the .NET class library is the SystemEvents[^] class. It exposes a SessionEnding event that you can use to detect when a user logs off or tries to shutdown the system.
Check the documentation for SessionEnding[^] for some other information you'll need to know about this event and what's happening in the system and with your application at the time this event fires.

Goodness knows what you're talking about. Perhaps consider what you're asking, type it into google first, and if that doesn't help, try asking lucidly here.
