Hi,
I want to rotate a mesh around a FIXED axis that does not rotate like the axis of the mesh itself.
thats my code so far:
<br />
device.Transform.World = Matrix.RotationYawPitchRoll(yaw, pitch, roll) * Matrix.Translation(x, y, z);
But whith that code the mesh rotates around the axis of itself.
|
|
|
|
|
Try swapping the rotation Matrix and the translation matrix like this.
device.Transform.World = Matrix.Translation(x, y, z) * Matrix.RotationYawPitchRoll(yaw, pitch, roll);
|
|
|
|
|
Doesn't have any effect
Has nobody else any idea?
|

|
This might be a little vague, but better than nothing I hope.
One way to rotate about an arbitrary axis (there are others):
- find the unique point on the axis such that a line from that point to the origin is perpendicular to the axis - let's suppose the point is 1,2,3
-translate that point to the origin - Translation(-1,-2,-3)
-do the rotation
-undo the translation - Translation(1,2,3)
Hope that helps a bit

Hello, I have to make a software to calculate and show the effects of Nuclear explotions on the ground. For that , I need to use a map design tool or a map-database. Does anybody know a practical way of using map in a software. Where should I start?? Do you know any tool or ready map for this ?? thank you.

You join, say you're from a muslim country, and your first post asks how to do calculations about the effects of nuclear weapons? I hope no one here is silly enough to provide you with any help.

Didn't mean to be.
But to go on record and answer some of the points you brought up in your e-mail to me:
erginduzu wrote: Making a nuclear weapon is one thing and calculating the effects is another thing. The first is aggressive , the latter is defensive. I can not belive that you really think something like that.
Being able to calculate the blast effects is necessary if you're deciding on what to target and how.
erginduzu wrote: Becouse history tells about only one country which used nuclear bombs to civillians in Japan. And that is not a muslim country.
Yes, the US first developed and used nuclear weapons. I won't argue with you whether it was right or wrong but it brought a quick end to a long and bloody war we didn't start. Bad things happen in wars. However, we haven't used them again. What's your excuse for wanting them? Because they look pretty?
erginduzu wrote: In fact everybody knows usa , england, chineese, India, France etc. already have nuclear weapons. USA's used that once. Who can guarantee it will not use again?? You have only Iran that you SUSPECT to have nuclear power as a muslim country.
I guess Pakistan isn't muslim enough for you? Guess they aren't (openly) ruled by clerics, just a military dictatorship. They've shown remarkable ethics in the handling of their nuclear technology by selling it to whoever has the money.
erginduzu wrote: I am not a one man engineer to make nuclear bombs. I am a student in nuclear energy sience.
Gee, when I studied nuclear engineering, we studied power reactors, shielding, nuclear reactions... I don't remember any bomb effects calculations.
erginduzu wrote: Turkeys first threat is Iran which is a muslim country.(Although I think it must be USA)
I believe that Turkey is and has been for a very long time a member of NATO and an ally of the US. Are you a Turk, someone abusing their hospitality or hiding your real location? If the Turkish government needs calculations of blast effects for defensive purposes, they can get them from their NATO allies by simply asking. University students have no need for this knowledge.

I'm recording alot of video files and I need to create real-time peaks of the recorded audio stream. I was thinking that I could achieve this by creating an .AX filter to attach to the recorder graph which will receive the audio stream, analyze it, and create the peaks.
Does anyone have any idea how to implement this?
Thanks alot !

A good place to start is with the filter samples included with the DirectShow SDK.
The WavDest Filter Sample is an example of a transform filter for audio.
The Scope Filter Sample shows one way of processing audio samples.
Is there a more specific part that you are having trouble implementing?

Thanks alot !
Scope sample is something close of what I need. I just want that result write to a file. Frame number along with peak audio value.
I need a filter that's compatible with iuVCR. The scope filter is not, and I don't know how to implement one that could be used with it.

The scope filter is a renderer so that would be tough to use unless you insert a tee somewhere
in the graph.
The WavDest filter is implemented as a transform filter, which seems more appropriate for your
needs - you can grab samples as they go by in the graph.
Either way, getting them to work with iuVCR is the problem. I've never used it. What does a
filter graph look like with it? No matter what method you choose, you'll need a place in the
graph to insert your filter (or a tee, then your filter).

I don't know how to take a look at it's filer graph. It has an option to insert additional filters into the filter graph. Here's a quote from the help file "This tab allows the use of additional plugins for real time video stream processing. Any DirectShow filter with one Input Pin and one Output Pin can be used as a plug-in for iuVCR. Compatibility between the current video stream and filter is strongly recommended for correct operation."
As you might suspect I'm a DirectShow novice. Any further help is greatly appreciated

Well that's good - at least there's a place to insert filters! Does it specify just the video
stream or do you have access to the audio stream?
With access to the audio stream, the WavDest Filter Sample would be a good start since it's
implemented as a transform filter - it has one input pin and one output pin.
I'll take a look at iuVCR...

I believe it gives access to audio stream also, I don't see why not.
Or could that be the reason I can't load WaveDest filter ? Because it won't allow access to audio stream?
Perhaps you'll be able to figure it out better when you take a look at it.

hmm I don't see any audio stream inserts there.
Maybe contact Ivan and ask him to add it! It should be pretty simple
Although it uses directShow, it's an all-in-one app. Unless he provides an insertion point for
external filters (like he has for video) there's no way to get at the filter graph to manually
insert filters.
