hi all,
how i can specify the ' Adobe PDF Output Folder '
property of the Adobe Pdf Printer driver programmatically.
thanks in advance,
ram

There's nothing in the .NET Framework classes that will do this. Your best source of information on this would be the manufacturer of the PDF Printer your using.

hi all,
i use following two string to connect database located at remote sql server (mean on internet)
sql connection string
SqlConn = "Data Source=xxx.xxx.xx.xx\server;Network Library=DBMSSOCN;Initial Catalog=databaseName;User ID=Databaseuser ; Password=DatabasePassword;"
error:
“An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)”
OLEDB connection string
oledbConn = "provider=SQLOLEDB; "Data Source=xxx.xxx.xx.xx\server;Network Library=DBMSSOCN;Initial Catalog=databaseName;User ID=Databaseuser; Password=DatabasePassword;"
error:
“[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect())]Specified SQL server not found”
I already have done the following steps:
1. Enable the TCP/IP protocol using the Surface Area Configuration Utility
2. the TCP/IP protocol is enabled in the SQL Server Configuration Utility
3. the SQL Server browser is started.
4. SQL Server and SQL Server Browser are exempted by the firewall on the server machine. This is done by putting sqlservr.exe and sqlbrowser.exe as an exception in the windows firewall.
i dont know where i m wrong. Please Help Me
any help will be appriciated. thanks

You put up an SQL Server visible directly to the Internet?? I take it data security wasn't a concern? This is a VERY bad idea, even if you're just playing around with this server. If you're not familiar with how SQL Server's secuirty works, you're leaving a server open for anyone to use for anything they want. You'll come in one day and wonder why you can't talk to your server anymore, or why it has no space available, or...

please show me how the arrays work
i am learning how to code as i am a second year web design student.my language is vb.net.
|
|
|
|
|
One Dimension Array:
Many arrays have only one dimension, such as the number of people of each age. The only requirement to specify an element is the age for which that element holds the count. Therefore, such an array uses only one index. The following example declares a variable to hold a one-dimensional array of age counts for ages 0 through 120.
Ex:
Dim ageCounts(120) As UInteger
Two Dimension Array:
Some arrays have two dimensions, such as the number of offices on each floor of each building on a campus. The specification of an element requires both the building number and the floor, and each element holds the count for that combination of building and floor. Therefore, such an array uses two indexes. The following example declares a variable to hold a two-dimensional array of office counts, for buildings 0 through 40 and floors 0 through 5.
Ex:
Dim officeCounts(40, 5) As Byte

It's funny, as soon as I see 'very urgent', I know that it's not going to be a clear and meaningful question.
What on earth are you talking about ? What graph ? What does debugging have to do with it ? Doesn't google work where you live ? The web abounds with info on updating databases.

Around here, or any forum for that matter, "very urgent" only means you have to pee really bad.

And, it's always interesting that when you try to help ( by pointing out that the question is a nonsense and asking for more info ), Mr Urgent doesn't reply again ( it's been 18 hours ).

He must not have gotten a hall pass fast enough. He probably ended up peeing in his chair, so it's not so urgent anymore!

I need to create a login dialog that will ask a user to login if there has been no activity for a set period of time. Does anyone have any ideas on how to check for events without interrupting the event loop so?
Thanks for any help!
Apparently it's not OK to start a bonfire of Microsoft products in the aisles of CompUSA even though the Linuxrulz web site says so

If this is a windows app, add a timer control to your app and then in the event that happens when the timer time is up prompt for the login.
Hope that helps.

I'm talking about a system that will check for any user events and after a specified time, if there havent been any then it prompts for a login...What I need to know is if there is a non-intrusive way to get inside the event loop without slowing the app down. that way i can check for user events...

R U asking about keyboard and mouse activities alone?
If U R concerned with the applications too, please remember that there R background process that will run always.

They need to be event from the application itself...they may use the computer for other things, but if they are not active with the application for a period of time then they will be logged out and will need to log back in.

So why won't a timer work for this? I am having a hard time understanding why you think a timer component would somehow interfer with the application. When a timer component is started in runs on a sepparate thread and calls back to the application when the timeout has occured. If the application does some event all you would have to do is set enabled = false and then back to true to reset the timer period. I think this would be a pretty good solution for you, but perhaps I don't understand something.

I guess my question is more along the lines of how would i know when the application had last raised an event without stepping in the middle of the event loop...A timer would work fine for figuring out when to show the dialog if an event has been raised...but how would I know when the last time an event was raised for my application?
Sorry if I was unclear or rude...I appreciate the help, Thank you very much, and thank you also if you know of any way to do this.

I want to know how I can make a button do somthing like add "1" (eg, change 0 to 1. 1 to 2, etc.) to a numerical field, and subtract. Of course, there will be diferent buttons that eithradd or subtract the different values..
I'm basicly making a counter. There will be multiple buttons, like Add 1, Subtract 1, Add 10, subtract 10, etc, and a reset button to return it to 0.
Also, I plan to make a version where there will be 3 add buttons and 3 subtratc buttons, and a numerical field aove them allows you to customize the buttons effect on the number.
Can sombody tell me wha code to use for all this junk?

Gee - this seems to me like it's probably homework. I really don't see how I can respond without giving you code, which I don't want to do, if it's homework. What do you have already ? It does seem to me that if this is not for a class, you should be buying a book that teaches VB.NET on the console and working through it before you move to WinForms. And, if it's a class, your texts should tell you how to create a member variable, etc.

Nah, it aint homerok. I sit myself down with books and teach myslef codes, dont care to spend cash on classes...
But none of them books have anything on this,,,
|
|
|
|

All of the books will tell you how to create a member variable, and how to change the value of a variable. That's all you're asking for here.
