If you don't use cookies or a querystring, then your only other option is session state. I have imported session state from asp to ASP.NET before, via a service.

thanks buddy!
but I don't think it would work in Asp.NET code...
actually problem is session state become reset when we switch over to another web application ..

Session state is your only other option, and it can only work if you have something like I had, where both apps are on one server, and a service stores the state between apps.

Hi ALL
How can i create PDF file from ASP.NET
I want to display my DB records in a PDF file
Thx in ADV.

You can't. ASP.NET has nothing to do with PDFs. You CAN use a .NET PDF library to create PDFs within an ASP.NET project, however.

You can't create PDFs on the clint end, you can just write them on the server and send them to the client.

some we emit javascript from the codebehind like
Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(typeof(Page), "strScript", sScript);
so please tell me can i emit javascript by the above syntax whenever we will be working with update panel.
if not or if the syntax is different then please tell me the steps in detail with a sample code.

The most annoying thing about you posting five questions in rapid succession, is that you only really asked three.
ATLAS does do a full page postback, but I don't think it's going to import client script, as it's not rendering the whole page.

One good way is to not use ATLAS, and write your own AJAX script.

in asp.net 2.0 i have one master page and one content page.in my content page there is a datagrid not gridview.my logic is writtent over there
like whenever user will click on a button then i will fetch value from the texboxes placed in footer of the datagrid.
my code was
protected void btnSave_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
for (i = 0; i <= dgList.Items.Count - 1; i++)
{
if (dgList.Items[i].ItemType = ListItemType.Footer)
{
string sUnit = ((TextBox)dgList.Items[i].FindControl("txtUnit")).Text.Trim();
}
}
}
but the problem is my iteration does not get into footer means if (dgList.Items[i].ItemType = ListItemType.Footer) this line never becomes true.
i always get the success whenever i used to do it in asp.net 1.1.but it is not working in asp.net 2.0.so please tell me what is wrong in my code.
so please tell me how could i do this in asp.net 2.0. please rectify my error if there is any and give me a sample code.

You should use the item data bound event to find the footer.

suppose i have one master page and one content page.whenever i am trying to capture a control of a content page from content page
at that time i getting error like object reference is not found.how could i fix this error.

How does this differ from qustion 1 ?
You need to use findcontrol recursively, there is no guarentee that a control will be on the top level. You fix that error by not writing code that assumes the search succeeds.

are you searching for the control within the page? if so try searching for it within your content panel or whatever holder you're using for it such as
mycontentpanel.controls.item(0).findcontrol(mycontrol).
|
|
|
|
|
please give me small sample code by which i can find or capture a control of a content page from master page.

If a control is always in the content, perhaps it belongs in the master page ?
this.Page.FindControl()

hi
i have made some of my columns in gridview invisible and now when i update my gridview the invisible column values are set to null
how can i update the gridview having invisible columns
madhu
|
|
|

You have to make that column visible before u r binding grid.After binding again u can make that column invisible.
Ex
GridEdit.DataSource = ds_projectSelect;
GridEdit.Columns[0].Visible = true;
GridEdit.DataBind();
GridEdit.Columns[0].Visible = false ;
hope that this will help u.

Hi,
Can I use <% = and %> tags to insert ASP.NET code snippets into my HTML? If yes? why doesn't the following code work?
<asp:RadioButton id="<% = r[i]["ID"].ToString() %>" runat="server" />
Also, if I use something like:
<asp:RadioButton id="SomeID" value="<% = r[i]["Value"].ToString() %>" runat="server" />
Any Ideas?
