I take it you're talking about VB6. You can find examples all over the web, like this one[^].
Rohit Dev wrote: How can i use Peek and Poke in Classic VB?
Peek and Poke don't exist in VB6. They also don't have any meaning under Windows since each process runs in it's own memory space, as if it was the only process running in the system.

Hi again,
I get the following error
"Access of shared member, constant member, enum member or nested type through an instance; qualifying expression will not be evaluated."
Below is the code where I get this error.
Private Sub txtTextField_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles txtRoomNo.KeyPress
'A number, backspace and dot allowed only
If Not (e.KeyChar.IsNumber(e.KeyChar)) And Not (e.KeyChar.IsControl(e.KeyChar)) Then
e.Handled = True
End If
End Sub
Any ideas where I am going wrong or how to fix this problem?

hi dear,
first of all please be sure you handeled keypress event for Correct text box. Code provided by you shows that it handles keypress event of txtRoomNo , not of txtTextField.
use following code for allow a number, backspace and dot only
If Not (Char.IsControl(e.KeyChar)Or Char.IsNumber(e.KeyChar)Or e.KeyChar = ".") Then
e.Handled = True
End If
hope this helps

Do you need this value in your code somewhere? If so, it's easy enough to get at runtime without going to the registry to get it. This path is returned by Application.StartupPath .
Dim myAppPath As String = Application.StartupPath
If you wanted to write this value to the registry during the installation, you'd have to create a custom action to do it. You can find out more about custom actions here[^].

The setup project in visual studio 2005 allows you to do this, google it. If you don't have visual studio 2005, then click once is pretty much only option other then 3rd party deployment software.

if you use Setup And Deployment Wizard to make your setup project then In the File System Window you will find a User's Desktop folder under File System on Target Machine .
1.Click it.
2.On the righthand Pane Right click > then click on Create New Shortcut A shortcut will appear....Rename it...You may set an Icon for it also......

All you have to do is type "vb.net save image to access database[^]" into Google and you'll come up with dozens of examples.
But, since Access has a limited database file size, how you're doing it now would probably be the best way to do it. Of course, that's subject to your projects specifications and expected usage. For example, if you do a bunch of adding/deleting of the image records, it increases the need to compact and reapir the database on a regular schedule to keep the database file size down.

I'm having trouble bringing the other tabs of my TabStrip Control to the
front so I can work on them. VB Help says to use ZOrder or Hide/Show
(depending on source), but the sample code doesn't fix the problem for the
design view.
I have 4 tabs in my control and can only get to the first one. None of my
other references cover this.
What am I missing?

It's been about 6 years since I've touched VB6, so I may get this wrong. But, IIRC, all you had to do was click on each tab to get it to show it's page, in design view.

Then the TextBox wasn't put on the page of the tab. It's actually sitting over the top of the entire TabControl.
This is usually caused by double-clicking the control in the ToolBox, then trying to move the control over the top of the TabControl. You MUST single-click the control in the ToolBox, then draw the control on the TabControl page. Click and hold the mouse button down on the TabControl and drag to draw the new control to size.
