I am having a datagridview.
New records added in the datagridview(by entering values in the blank row shown at the end) are not shown after focus is moved out of the row.
Why the row added is not shown in the datagridview?

Hi,
I have shelled a DOS command that gives me the list of projects in a particular server which goes like this.
Shell("c:\program files\ascential\datastage7.5\dsjob -server xx.xxx.xx.xx -user abcd -password xyz -lprojects")
If I run the above command in command prompt it will display the list of projects.
I need to get this result in a combobox or something of similar kind.
Can anybody help me on this ?

When you set up the process, you can tell it to redirect the output.

Hi,
Can we stop the dropdown listbox from appearing at all from a combobox? Can we set the listbox hwnd = 0? I know we could try to hide the dropdown via the dropdown event or via the windows message CNB_DROPDOWN.

You're talking about a textbox, aren't you ?
What does the combo give you if the arrow doesn't drop a list box ?

no i do mean the listbox. i want to use the look of the combobox but drop down my own list like a treeview... i have implemented it with a textbox and button and everything is fine except it doesn't theme. So, i thought if i use a standard combobox and have a textbox sit on top and somehow turn off the listbox, could get the themed look of the button.

Hi, I have a vb6 combobox on a usercontrol and subclassed this combobox to catch the CBN_DROPDOWN message and unfortunate this message never seems to occur. I tried doing the same thing on a vb form and that works. Can anyone help?
Friend Function WndProc(ByVal hwnd As Long, ByVal uMsg As Long, ByVal wParam As Long, ByVal lParam As Long) As Long
Dim iCode As Long
Select Case uMsg
Case WM_COMMAND
If lParam <> 0 Then
iCode = (wParam And &HFFFF0000) \ &H10000
If iCode = CBN_DROPDOWN Then
SendMessage cbo.hwnd, CB_SHOWDROPDOWN, 0, 0
End If
End If
End Select
WndProc = CallWindowProc(m_OrigWndProc, hwnd, uMsg, wParam, lParam)
End Function

The options are to do it bit by bit in an online converter, or to buy a program that does it within your IDE.

This is a typo - surely you didn't type all this in ? No-one is going to read it all.
Converting it yourself is a good exercise, it looks like it should be straightforward.

That's not C# code.
You've done this on other forums - posting this uncompilable garbage code that can't possibly convert to anything meaningful.

Hi to all
I have a problem with database in vb.net using sqlexpress.
My problem is:
I have created a.mdf database file and tables in it, and written code for inserting data to this table through command object. But my real prob is when i supply the connection string which is created by the "data configuration wizard" to this cmd object then on runtime insert executes and also datais visible in datagridview but when i check the data in the table it is not there and all fields are NULL. given connection string.
("Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\LIB.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True")
But on the otherhand if i give connection string as ::
"Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=D:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\LIB\LIB\LIB.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True"
then data is successfully inserted in the database and i m also able to view it in my database table.
So if Any one can help me it will be highly appreciable.
Thanks.

hi thks for your reply.
I ttied it but it did not worked.
Please can u give it with an example o how to declare it.
Thanks

try this
<br />
dim constring as string = "Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=" & application.startuppath & "\LIB.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True"<br />
connect with this string
Note : after exiting application you need to click on server explorer and right click lib.mdf database and click on close connection and copy lib.mdf and lib.log files from debug folder to back to lib folder. otherwise you will not get the changes and the file will be overwritten with the old one when you are running your application again

Hi
When i try the constring u suggested i am getting another error at the point of cn.open, the error is as :
DriveLetter:\Project Folder\bin\Debug\LIB.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share.
what is this error about i cant understand.

Either that path doesn't exist or Sql Server already has that database attached. Use the SQL Server Management Studio to see if it's listed under the Databases folder in the Object Explorer.

Hi thx for reply.
as u suggested i serched it in sql server mgmt studio under databases but it is not listed there.

just add msgbox(constring) in my previous code after constructing constring. and run the application. varify that the message you are getting is pointing to the exact location of your database
