Unless there is a component out there for Javascript to be able to update the viewstate then you will have to find another way to alert the server that changes have been made. You can probably include a hidden field that the javascript can change at the same time as the grid. The Server will then pick up the value of the hidden field which you can then act on.

Hi,
I am using a listbox in the grid so there can be many records in the listbox in each row of the grid.I am updating the entire grid with all the values in the list boxes in the end.The values in the listboxes for each row in the grid can be different. It is not possible to use a hidden field here so there can be any number of records in the listboxes.
Do u have any other alternative?
Regards,
Riz

Thanks for ur answer,Bijay Bhaskar Deo.
The browser may cache the page,because when open the page in a new window,
the child page in the frame has updated.
And if open it in the old one ,it unchanged.
Yet,when others visit this page that exists in my computer.In my system Temporary Internet Files ,it creates a file named "temp.html".
But the cilents(others)did not get the update in their page,still the old one .
code:
so,how to solve it ?

Hi there!
Is there any way to give different login url for different folders.
E.g. I have directory 'admin' where I want user to redirect to admin login page. This url is different then the main site login page.
It's urgent!

IMO, yes...it just depends on your business...how do you verify a user want to aceess admin section or another section?

1- User Role base security.
2- Place a separate web.config in the Admin folder and specify the Login page url for unauthenticated admin users.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the help previously for helping me to display combobox in editItem mode. I have a followup question, which is how do i update my database if the user had changed the value there? And how do i set the combobox to show the retreive value from the database ?
Thank you everyone....;)

To Save data from combo box.
a> Iterate each row of the Gridview find the dropdown control in the gridview row using control id, get the selected value and update the value to the database.
b> Set the auto-post back of the dropdown to true and handle the selected change event, get the value and update it to the database.
To bind the control.
a> Set the datasource property at design time only by calling a server side function which returns a datatable or dataview object.
b> Or handle the row created event of the grid view, get the dropdown from the gridview row, set the datasource property.

Hi all
Is there a way when writting response.write(table) from code behind to save the table in the body of the html file not outside it.
thanks
|
|
|
|
|
Use a literal control and assign the table to that
|
|
|
|
|
Thanks for ur response. I managed to assign the table to the literal control, but iam not being able to reference it. I want to iterate through this table and add values from it to database.
Thanks again

IMO, why dont you use asp table server control?

This is what iam trying to do!!!
How can i fill this table from html file or literal control
thanks

sorry missed your mean...do you want to add row into a table at client side?
<< >>
|
|

|

No, what i meant is that my datasource is an html table genertaed by a program that i dont have its source. My need is to save this html table into database. What i was trying to do is to return data from the html table to a asp table where i can iterate through each row.
|
|
|
|
|
so just a suggestion as I'm not sure too...you got the html source and able to show it at client ,right? the way i would suggest is that storing the html table into a hidden field...so when submitting, just parse it to get value from it

This is exactly what i want, i want to parse data from the td's and save them in database and i have the html source and able to show it at client side. How can i? Thanks again.

If I understand you correctly, you need to traverse through your html table.
here is a pseudo code on doing that:
var table = document.getElementById("MyTable");
var tableBody = table.getElementsByTagName("TBODY")[0];
var trs = tbody.getElementsByTagName('TR');
for(var i=0; i<trs.length; i++)
{
var cells = trs[i].getElementsByTagName('TD');
for (var j = 0; j< cells.length; j++)
{
var myCell = cells[j];
}
}
Sincerely,
Elina
Life is great!!!
Enjoy every moment of it!

Let me remind u that u have a PlaceHolder control which u can precisely position anywhere in the document. And this control is used to hold other controls.
So u decalre the contols in code behiend and add it using the PlaceHolder controls Control.add() method. Fine . I think it solves ur purpose
