Hi Arun
The month, quarter and year calculations in your C# code don't seem very accurate. Can't you just use the VB "DateDiff" function?

Andy

Sorry, I do not know much of VB.NET functions,
as I am using C# language.
Any way, thank you very much.

hi, is this what you want to do?
Dim startdate As New Date(2006, 1, 1)
Dim enddate As New Date(2006, 3, 1)
dim s as string
'i just pass the value of startdate & enddate to textbox
txtstartdate=startdate
txtenddate=enddate
'this will calculate the difference of your date
s=DateDiff(DateInterval.Day,strdate,enddate)
Msgbox(s)
is that what you mean dude?sorry if my instinct is wrong.

Hello
1) I am making a web page with VB.NET. How to open a pdf-document when clicking a button ?
2) Back-button of explorer does not work after opening my www-page. It only reloads my page again . ?
|
|
|
|
|
1 - just provide a link to the PDF, the browser will open it
2 - the back browser goes back to the last URL, always.

Is there any way out for this problem ?

You can buy a barcode scanner, but you need to build or buy a database that turns the numbers that a bar code represents, into the details of the product that carries it.

please i need more details..
do you mean that barcode scanner automatically with application to read codes and all i nned here is tp attach this application with my database

The barcode reader will only scan the code of the product.
You have to interface it with the PC.
You should have a database with columns like
Barcode,ProductName,Cost,Weight and so on.
And create an application that reads the scanned Barcode(from the barcode reader)
and fetch the corresponding properties from the database
and display them in the UI.

the only stuff you need is barcode reader. just install the barcode reader to the computer then he can read now the code in the box. thats to easy. if you scan the barcode in the box then the barcode reader will paste the code to your textbox or even in notepad.

i want to create a function that utilizes a String and does just about the same thing as a Sub,but does not return a value ,can any one help me out?
|
|

A function returns a value, a sub does not. This is another VB disaster, IMO. But, the void return type is a sub. If it's a function, it returns something. Otherwise, there's no difference, AFAIK.

A function that does the same as a sub ??? I would have thought the solution to be obvious; use a sub

I meant a function that does the same as a sub ,but like all functions do,utilizes an Object or a Component but does not return any value
|
|
|
|
|
Let me make it clear,its something like this
Function str() as String<br />
<br />
'code related with str ,which does something to the form,just like code in an event sub<br />
<br />
RETURN<br />
'I've got nothing to return<br />
<br />
End Function
Say if i choose null as the return value,will the code above it be processed,irrespective of the fact that the function will always return null
|
|
|
|
|
You could do this :-
Function str() as string<br />
<br />
'your code here<br />
<br />
Return Nothing<br />
<br />
End Function
but surely that is the same as :-
Sub str()<br />
<br />
'your code here<br />
<br />
End Sub
Or is it you what to provide an object for the "function" to work with and change, in which case :-
Sub str(ByRef myObject as Object)<br />
<br />
'do something to myObject<br />
<br />
End Sub
This would receive the memory address the the object and change it directly, without the need to passing back the result

I suggest you buy a book and fill in the gaps.

What you're talking about is still a Sub .
Private Sub SetupDataGridView()
' Code to setup your DGV goes here.
End Sub
Seriously, pickup a book on VB.NET for Beginners. This is really basic stuff you're asking about.
