Hi All
Im a novice to this so apologies for what may be a stupid question.
I have spent a few days desperately trying to figure out a formmail (in contact page) on my first ASPNET web site. All my pages are coded aspx and when I try find a script for formmail for this there seems to be a dead end. I have tried various alternatives such as sticking an html form table and section into the aspx page with reference to an asp form to process, but it also seems to grind to a halt. The OS is a windows package with full ASPNet 2 and asp functionality (as well as php, etc).
Could anyone point me to:
1) A (simple) formmail designed specifically to be handled in aspx? or
2) How I can set up the asp formamil in an aspx page so it works?
I know this is a borad one, but any advice would be much appreciated!!!!!

ASP.NET has classes for sending email, so you can design any sort of form, and send your email on postback.

Hi Christian
Thanks for the reply!
Is there any complete working sample/ tutorial of a feedback form for aspx pages using ASPNet2 with samples shown and pages that I can go through in details to see this in a working setup?

I am using an update query to update Oracle and MSSQL same at a time.
In cases where my Oracle Update query fails,and MSSQL updates.And Vice Versa.
How can we sychronise this.I want the same data in both the Database if one fails also.

Why are the databases different ? What benefit does this give you ? .NET has classes optimised for SQL Server and for Oracle, ideally you'd have two data layers and be calling both.

Actually this question is asked in an Interview.
Lets us consider i have same table and structure in both Oracle and MS SQL Server.
i am updating same data in Oracle and MSSQL simultaneously using their corresponding providers.
During that time if one connection fails while updating,other will be updated.
And finally i want the data to be present in both the tables.How to do this?

Hi Friends
I have created an ASP.NET application to send Email. It is working fine. Now I want to know how to send an Email on a particular date. For eg: The Email should be send tomorrow. How can I achieve that.
Thanks in advance.

Hey go with the Calender control or fix the date with the drop downlist.
When the user clicks a link in the Calendar control, instead of the normal processing that submits the form and selects the clicked day, I want the custom JavaScript procedure to be invoked. By default, all the links rendered by the Calendar control generate a postback to the server. What I want instead is for them to point to the custom SetDate procedure. Changing the default output for the table cells that contain the day links is pretty easy thanks to the Calendar's DayRender event, which is raised every time a day is rendered and which provides a reference to the table cell being created. The following code snippet replaces the default cell's content with my own hyperlink control, which has the same text but points to the JavaScript procedure:
Private Sub DatePicker_DayRender(...) Handles DatePicker.DayRender<br />
Dim hl As New HyperLink()<br />
hl.Text = CType(e.Cell.Controls(0), LiteralControl).Text<br />
hl.NavigateUrl = "javascript:SetDate('" & _<br />
e.Day.Date.ToShortDateString() & "');"<br />
e.Cell.Controls.Clear()<br />
e.Cell.Controls.Add(hl)<br />
End Sub<br />

How to make Asynchronous calls between two .NET objects
Sathiya

Use Threads to Asynchronous calls between two.Net objects.

Whoa, steady on there matey. Threads are a whole other cup of tea entirely and aren't always what you need. What do you mean asynchronous calls and under what context? If you want two object to act on each other all they need is a reference to the other object, easy enough done with a property or constructor parameter. If your talking two processes that work outside the ASP.NET request lifecycle then you probably do need threads but I'd highly recomend not using them inside the ASP.NET container (ie the web site), it can cause all kinds of headaches.

I have a VB application that creats an objekt of a c# component, like
Dim objParser As Object<br />
Set objParser = CreateObject("My.BusinessLogicLayer.BusinessLogicObjects.Importer")<br />
This works fine in WinNT2000 Server, but it dosen't seem to be able to get
access in WinNT2003 Server.
Both my compnents are reg. in com+ and my
My.BusinessLogicLayer.BusinessLogicObjects.dll is on gac.
Does anyone know why?
Thanks
Thomas

Whats the properties you are referring to? If its Project Property, you can right click your project in Solution Explorer and view the properties there.
If you are referring to properties of variables, thats available in code behind file. Open Solution Explorer - select the web form - and press F7 key, which would display the code behind file. In the code behind file, usually the variable declarations would be found after class declaration.

Hi All,
I am using reportviewer control to show some data on an asp.net page. It is working fine in the Development Machine, but when I move the code over to our Production server I get a runtime error, the runtime error shows up on the webpage and simply says:
An error has occurred during report processing.
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
That didn't help at all.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot you guys have been very helpful.

To catch the exception, enclose the line within a try/catch block and get the InnerException:
Try with this code and catch the exception
try<br />
{<br />
MyForm.Invoke(MyForm.MyDelegate, new Object[] { someParameter });<br />
}<br />
catch (Exception ex) <br />
{<br />
MessageBox.Show(ex.InnerException.Message);<br />
}

Satips.
