Consider that I have a very long function( not in line, in execution time). I am calling this function on pageload. So page is taking too much time to load beacuse of the function. How to make a waiting indication for the user or is it possible to use threading and do the long process on background. If so how I will show the contents on page ? Because page will be loading first before function finished it's execution ? Pls help

Call it using AJAX, and update the page when it's done. Show an animated gif to show that you're still loading, as your page until the AJAX call returns.

I was thinking the same think. But is it the rite way to do this ? since AJAX won't support in all browsers. I mean old versions. ?

It depends on who you expect to be looking at your site. If the browser is very old, then you're stuck with the only other option, which is timing out. Or a service that runs the task, and a page that keeps auto posting back to check if it's done. Why do it like it's 1996, for the sake of the 8 people who can't see a modern version ?

Can anyone help me with this
You are to create a small website that allows users to view links related to their interests. Users must choose one topic from each list of items. When the user clicks the submit button, they're redirected to a page that displays a link for each selected item. If the user clicks on the link, they will visit the site. This project contains two separate ASPX pages. One page displays the radio buttons, the other displays the links.

You've asked this three times, and a variety of people have offered to help, but you have abused them because you're not happy with the fact that we only help, we don't do people's homework for them.
Why not read your textbooks, figure out a place to start, and if you need help, try asking specific questions that show you've done something about your homework and have some understanding of the problem at hand ?

Can we able to call a method coded in aspx.cs page from an asp control?
This way:
eg.
aspx page
----------
<asp:TextBox ID="txtbox1" runat="server"
OnTextChanged=<b>GetText()</b>></asp:TextBox>
aspx.cs page
------------
public void GetText()
{
}

|
The OnTextChanged property should contain the name of an event handler, not program code.
If you view the properties for the textbox, you can double click in the editable area next to the OnTextChanged property, and Visual Studio will fill in the value and create a stub for the event handler for you.
---
single minded; short sighted; long gone;

|
|
|
|
Yes, if it's a defined event, and you stick to the signature of an event method ( object sender, eventargs ea ). No, if you want to invent events and/or signatures.
The OnTextChanged event exists, so I am not sure what you're asking. You can't call the method without a postback, or AJAX.

This is obviously an assignment. What have you tried ? We're not going to do your homework for you.

I am having a Wcf Service,Wcf Server(ie Host) and Wcf Client,the server is running properly and when i run the client it is throwing the exception as given below,
Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'IOrderProcessor' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this contract could be found in the client element.
I am using Msmq for sending messages.
