Hi everyone,
I created a Master page in C# website in which i use treeview and menucontrol of Infragistic 2007. I populate it through user rights....
When i select page through menu and open aspx page...Master page is postback and treeview and menucontrol reset
I want to maintain state of treeview.....
Is anyone knows how to do ....
Thanks,
Regards
Haseeb.

Whenever you load a page, you get a postback. That's just what happens. A master page is a template that's part of the compilation process, it still posts back, and 99% of the time, you'd want it to. You need to figure out how to persist your settings.
What do Infragistic suggest ?

Well, like I said, you should look into the vendors site. Apart from that, you can use the sesson or put stuff on the URL.

Hi Guys,
I'm using vb2005 for ASP.net, How can I pass a value to a contol on a web user control? before (on vb2003) what I use to do is to share the control and create a public shared method and pass value explicitly.
Please advice.

Nothing has changed. Create a public property to set the value on the control.
only two letters away from being an asset

i am trying to put several links into the same cell generating something like this
headlink1
sublink1 sublink2
any ideas ?

How are you populating the gridview?
If you create your own business object/logic you can bind your gridview fields to this object.
If you do this, you can then build each of the inner objects how you want. e.g. concatenate multiple links into one string object then your grid will display the data as such.
So, if you had either a table with multiple link fields or using joins in your sql statement/procedure you could populate the given object by using multiple fields.
objlinks = "<b>Heading</b><br /> <a href='#'>Link 1</a> <a href='#'> Link 2 </a>"
Hope this helps

This is a bit much for a simple solution. Use a template row.

I stumbled upon it yesterday although I didn't need it, it was in the back of my head. Looked it up again for you:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479353.aspx
You'll have to combine several pieces of the page, but I think it's all there

Hi, I'm having a problem with Request.Url.AbsoluteUri
I have 2 pages, that build a web address and they need to know the address entered in.
However one page has the right server in Request.Url.AbsoluteUri while another does not.
The address going in is like http://home.myserver.com:8300/. Both will grab the home.myserver.com but one of the pages will not grab the port. And when I try to get the port it will return it as "80".
What could be different between the 2 pages that could cause this problem.
Thanks,
Mike

I've been searching on this for a while and haven't found anything. How can I get the total row count from an ObjectDataSource control made up of a generic list of custom objects?
I tried doing casting the e.ReturnValue to my generic object list in the ObjectDataSource Selected event to no avail:
(( List < Product > )e.ReturnValue).Count
Has anybody done this before? I just want to show the user how many products are in a certain category along side the GridView. I'm using C# .NET 2.0 and have a Data Access Layer doing custom paging and sorting like this article on 4GuysFromRolla.
Thanks,
|

Don't know if this is exactly what you're searching for, but did you check http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.ui.webcontrols.objectdatasource.selectcountmethod.aspx
|
|
|
|
|
The ObjectDataSource.SelectCountMethod Property just gives the name of the method to get the SelectCount.. I want the actual select count.
Here's some more information:
I am getting the e.ReturnValue from the ObjectDataSource Selected event. The ObjectDataSource is hitting a Data Access Layer that returns a List of Products:
public static List GetProducts(int maximumRows, int startRowIndex, string sortExpression, int categoryId)<br />
...
I'm only getting the records I need from the database by page with this DAL method. I'm then using a
ObjectDataSource SelectCountMethod to get the total number of products in that category (ALL pages):
public int TotalNumberOfProducts(int categoryId, string sortExpression)<br />
...
The thing I really want is to get the value of the TotalNumberOfProducts in that category without hitting the database again. I should be able to get that from the ObjectDataSources Selected event or is there somewhere else where I should be trying to get this value?
Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks.

'not working' probably means it loses the last day because the time is defaulting to 12:00 am. Just set the time to 11:59:59 pm on the second date you pass in, and it will work fine.
