Hi everyone,
I have page written the following code:
<object id="color" data="colorchooser.html" type="text/x-scriptlet" VIEWASTEXT><br />
</object>
And it works fine in IE6, but IE7 doesn't allow this code and show the unavailable image instead of the color pallete like IE6. I think it comes from the security of I7E, but I haven't had way to solve it yet. Is there someone help me?
Thank you very much,
Thai Nam

hi ,
can any body tell which are the sites which gives free tutorial on how to make strong logics in the programming
|
|
|
|

Well, normally I tell people to try google, but as I can't work out what you want, I'm sure google isn't helping you.
What are you using to program the web ? PHP ? ASP ? I assume not ASP.NET ( as there's another forum for that ). ASP certainly sucks for trying to organise your code nicely, is that what you mean ? I have no idea what 'strong logics' means.

Hi there
I need to be able to get the filename of an image on my page using javascript. I can get the directory of the image, but is there perhaps a way to just call the image filename. Any ideas, possiby available DOM commands or jscript methods written by anyone would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
Regards
Devin

So you're looking for a convience function sort of like .net's Path.FileName() method?

I guess you'd have to look at the src attribute, then strip off everything up to and including the final slash char - should be left with just the filename and extn then....

I have a JavaScript that starts at mydomain.com each link/url runs within my Java App one link is mydomain.com/folder1 I have been trying to only allow access to /folder1 from mydomain.com the link in my Java App, and disallow direct access from anyone just typing the url http://mydomain.com/folder1. I know I’m on the right track with using the .htaccess file within /folder1, but no luck so far… I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks so much!!

something like
order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from http://mydomain.com or IP address
in my .htaccess should work, but get nothing but Internal Server Error

I use an .htaccess file something like this (ip addresses, folders and user name changed) to cause a username/password prompt to appear when trying to access using a browser. You would have to enter a valid ftp username/password to gain access to the folder.
Satisfy any
Order Deny,Allow
Allow from 999.999.0.0/16
Allow from 666.666.66.66/35
Deny from all
RemoveType .html .gif
AuthType Basic
AuthName "Access for /foldername"
AuthUserFile /domain-name/security-folder/userid/htpasswd
require user ftp-userid
|
|
|
|
|
Yes I have also used .htaccess to password protect any folder I have found that very easy I just used
AuthType basic
AuthName "Only for authorized personnel"
AuthUserFile /hsphere/local/home/mydomain/.htmaster/.ok_user
Require user admin
but for what I'm trying to do I can not have a password in place.
I want to disallow all
and only allow /myfolder from the main domain name
Thanks!

Try something like this
Satisfy any
Order Deny,Allow
Allow from 999.999.0.0/16
Allow from 666.666.66.66/35
Deny from all

ASP doesn't use VB code. You can use VBScript or JScript.

hey Guffa, are you in a bad mood today? Cheer up - you could always go torment string name = "" in the soapbox - thats'w what I do when I need a laugh! I suppose I shouldn't though... I ought to pick on someone with at least half a brain, really...
As for bananas (if you'll excuse the cross-post reference).... I'm sure the EU was supposed to be producing straight ones.... wondered why my walls are all bent...
Sorry hifiger2004 - can't help with any useful advice. Never got into php.

Out of curiosity, why would you do such a thing ? Why not ASP.NET ?

I have a table of data in the aspx web page. I am
printing it in landscape paper (11 X 8.5 inches). If
the table has more columns which cannot fit in the
page, then last few columns will not be printed. Is
there any trick or workaround to print all the columns
in IE 6? If it is not possible to fit all the columns
in one page width, then it should print the remaining
columns in another page.
plz any one help me regarding this...

Hi guys,
I'm working on a UI that doesn't want to cooperate. ...I figured I'd get a little fancy and I'm running into a little bit of trouble. I'm building an ASP.NET page (C# code behinds) that interfaces with a database table. ...The UI has a javascript "drop down" menu bar up top with a panel(with a couple of input fields and a query button) on the left of the screen, a grid to display the results of the query on the right of the screen, and an "Add" button below the grid. Clicking "Add" hides the grid and displays an "Admin" panel in its place ...blah blah blah. Ok...so there's an issue where the "Query" panel needs to be disabled(yet still visible) while the Admin panel is enabled so I figured I would simply create a div to overlay it and use css opacity to make it 50% opaque grey. ...I know that I ran across an article explaining how to do it but I cannot for the life of me find it with any kind of web search. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Does anyone know where to find an example of what I'm seeking?

OK. I have tested this in IE 6 & 7 and FireFox and got the same results.
Adding these terms "t2 = 3.43 + 10.00 + 3.33;" produces an incorrect value. Expected value is 16.76, but we get 16.759999999999998. Copy and paste the html code below in notepad and save as an HTML file and run. Oddly, if you swap the first and last terms, you get the expected value. Any thoughts?
<html>
<script>
function Add()
{
var t = 0.0;
var val_1 = document.getElementById('val_1');
var val_2 = document.getElementById('val_2');
var val_3 = document.getElementById('val_3');
var total = document.getElementById('Total');
t = parseFloat(val_1.value) + parseFloat(val_2.value) + parseFloat(val_3.value);
total.value = t;
var t2 = 0;
t2 = 3.43 + 10.00 + 3.33;
//Switching the first and last term produces the correct value
//t2 = 3.33 + 10.00 + 3.43;
//alert(t2);
}
</script>
<input type="text" id="val_1" value="3.43"> +
<input type="text" id="val_2" value="10.00"> +
<input type="text" id="val_3" value="3.33"> = <input type="text" id="Total" value="">
<BR>
<input type="button" id="val_2" value="Add" onclick="Add();">
<BR><BR>
Another Test:
Switch 3.43 and 3.33 ("3.33 + 10.00 + 3.43") values and you get the correct value.
</html>
