nice idea thnx, but is it possible to display a message in windowless environment? if the client program detected dx8, is it possible to dislay message in the top of the 3d program? do i need a hooking technique or it is just simple detection and display in 3d way..?

You may want to read up on Serialization[^]. You've generalized it way too much.
Serialization converts an objects data into a trasmittable or saveable form, be it binary or text based.

yes , Serialization is Process of packing data , but added it encode the data pack's it so that it can be sent over wire.
Main advantage of serialization is that it ca be used to access object between different Processes over different machines.

Is this a windows app or a web app ? Which bits are you stuck on ? Do you know any SQL ? Do you know how to access a database ? What is the database you're using ?

OK - VB6 is a dead language. You need to specify if you're using VB6, as people will assume .NET otherwise.

Hey All,
Was wondering if someone could shed some light on the use of the System.Drawing.ImageFormatConverter class in VB.NET (2005).
Could someone provide an example as I'm getting no-where:
dim pBMP = new Bitmap("c:\test.bmp")
dim pCON as new System.Drawing.ImageFormatConverter()
pCON.ConvertFrom(pBMP)
...Now where to?
Any help would be appreciated.

The example in the link converts file formats, where my purpose is to convert the colors in the image from 24bpp to 16bpp bitmaps.
Therefore I believe I need the ImageFormatConverter.

The easiest way to do this is to create a 16bpp bitmap and draw the 24 bpp bitmap onto it. You can probably also use the color matrix to do this. In fact, the way to do it is just to strip the least significant bits of the red, green and blue component of each color. That is, if you wanted to build it yourself, which you probably don't.
The ImageFormatConverter converts between file formats, as in gif, jpeg, etc. So MSDN tells me, anyhow

Hello frnds,
i want to show a message box in word document, when i clicked the button in word 2003.
for that purpose the method i used was :
i took the button from visual basic tool bar in word2003,then i double click a button, it shows me a visual basic editor and i wrote a code to display a message box and save the word and exit from it,
if i again open the word and click the button then nothing happens ..means no event fires..Why????????
where i am wrong ????
what should i do ?
how can i use visual basic for applciation..

THE REASON WHY IT IS NOT DISPLAYING THAT MSGBOX WHEN U RESTART, IS U NEED TO ENABLE MACROS IN MS-WORD. ENABLE THE MACROS THEN IT WILL SURELY DISPLAY THE MSGBOX.

hi
To enable macros in MS word.. follow these steps..
open MSword->open Tools menu-> open Macros-> click on Security menu-item.
this will open the Security dialog box. now under the Security level Tab u will find three options.. now try clicking medium and Low options. first try using medium... hope it will solve ur proble.. else try using LOw. then close the document and restart it. This time u surely gonna get the msgbox.

I am using VS .NET 2003 with add-in crystal report. I have to create a cross report with summarised fields as different columns. But this facility is not getting in add-in crystal report, possible in Crystal Report XI developer edition.

I want to apply commit transaction. I have created BLL.

If I do direct connection to oracle with out crating BLL then I have command.
