What are you asking ? The quote means the only way to speed up a Mac is to throw it out the window.

The text you are referring to is a signature used by ExpertComing. When you setup a profile on CodeProject.com you can create a signature that gets appended to every message you post in the forums. So if his signature had been "Thanks Have a Nice Day" it would have said that at the end of the message - it has nothing to do with his actual response. So when you see "The best way to accelerate a Macintosh is at 9.8m/sec² - Marcus Dolengo" that is just his signature. You can ignore that part of his response.

Wow, that is funny. I never thought I could find someone that (fill in the blank). I got a hell of a laugh out of that.

Hi Friends,
I have developed a web application on my computer and it runs successfully on my localsystem.
Now I want to run it on other computer in my office which is coonectced via LAN to my computer.
To achieve this I have done some modifications to that computer's hosts file which is located at
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc.
I have append following.
216.25.0.33 http://216.25.0.33/MyApplication
Here 216.25.0.33 is the IPAddress of my computer.
But this thing doesnt work means I am not able to visit my application from there.
Can you please tell me where exactly i am making mistake or the approach I have takes is wrong?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Thanks and Regards,

your hostfile is like a dns-server. That means it can store names so you don't have to remember IP-addresses.
An example:
216.25.0.33 myserver
This will not work:
216.25.0.33 http://216.25.0.33/MyApplication
(the hostfile is not a web-forwarder)
If i write "myserver" in the addressbar it would be the same as i write the IP-address. So the address for your application would then be "http://myserver/MyApplication/"

Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I got the point. But can u tell me what should i write in place of "myserver" in
216.25.0.33 myserver?
should it be my computer name or something else?
Thank you again.
Thanks and Regards,

How does it run on your PC, using IIS or the web server built in to VS2005 ? If the former, people should be able to see it by typing your PC's name or IP address into their browser. If the latter, it needs to be hosted somewhere.

HELLO CHETAN YAR,
U have done a mistake...
to run your website properly do the following things
- create one virtual diretory on IIS.
- Copy your all project files to that virtual directory
- now on other computer write following address to the
addressbar of the IEBrowser
- http://IP Name of Computer where Virtual dir store/Virtual dir name/Page name
eg. http://192.158.1.54/DemoVirtualDir/Default.aspx
Hope it helps....

hi,
i hope above solutions helps. but if u already have set autopostback true and still its not going into the selectedindexchanged event. then my friend wht u've to do is copy all the code from the selectedindexchanged event and delete the code for selected index changed event the the selectedindexchanged method as well. now double click dropdown list and pase ur code. it would definitely work if u've already set autopostback true.
hope it works for u. thnku

Hi people,
I have a COM object installed on a remote machine. I have been provided with a .NET assembly to communicate with this COM. The COM is used to validate some data and return the result. I create a small console application that uses the .NET assembly to contact the COM.
At first, we had some problems with "Access denied" because of security issues, so now we have set the security of the COM to run under the launching user. The console application works fine and the COM returns the results expected.
Now, I'm trying to do the same but from a web service. The idea is to have a windows application contact the web service to run the COM validation. It didn't work, so I thought that maybe I need to impersonate the user calling the .NET assembly that calls the COM. So I used the code on this page: http://west-wind.com/weblog/posts/1572.aspx[^]
When I debug, I can see that when I enter the web service method, the impersonation works fine and I can check that Environment.UserName is my username. This username has worked fine when i called the COM from the console application. I could see that the owner of the dllhost process was my username. So, the impersonation works fine but the COM fails to execute when I call the relevant method in the accompanying assembly.
I don't seem to understand what could be going wrong here. I don't know much about this COM+ stuff and impersonation, so maybe i'm missing something.
Does someone have a clue about this thing and what to do to fix it?
Thanks,
Talal
