you need to activate the method using Threads :
<br />
private void Method1()<br />
{<br />
Thread t1 = new Thread(ThreadStart(Method2));<br />
t1.Start();<br />
}<br />
<br />
private void Method2()<br />
{<br />
}<br />
<br />
to update the progressBar, you need to invoke another method because of the asynchronous call to Method2() what you need to do is thaat:
<br />
if(progressBar.InvokeRequired)<br />
{<br />
progressBar.Invoke(Method3);<br />
}<br />
else<br />
{<br />
}<br />
<br />
Method3() Bans Cross thread

You want to disable access to internet and network places from within your application? Then don't call any function that uses it until authernticated.

I have a dataset called ReturnedDataset.
It contains 1 row with 1 cell - how do I reference it ?
In vb.net I would do something like - DataSet21.issues(0).title but I cant seem to find the correct syntax for c#.
Thanks

DataSet.Table[0].Rows[0][0]

DataSet.Table["TableName"].Rows[0][0]

Yes, and if you want to go even further it could be
DataSet.Table["TableName"].Rows[0]["ColumnName"]
or if strongly typed
DataSet.TableName.Rows[0].ColumnName
So your point was?

C'mon! You're a Code Project MVP! You don't get that for nothing. It means you are great at what you do and you are great at spreading the greatness. (You don't think I over did the "great" thing there, did you?)

A block of code is giving exception in Release mode--outside VS, but not in debug mode. Can you please tell what is the problem with my this method? How can i track the exception? Its running properly in the debug but i don't know what goes wrong in the Release mode.
int i = 0;
int res = BAD_RESULT;
try
{
vector<dataaccess::tagpartdiameterrecord> parts;
if (m_pDoc->doGetPartDiameters(parts))
{
for(i = 0; i < parts.size(); i++)
{
if (parts[i].PartDiameterLUT < 10.0 ) PartDiameterLUT[i]= 10.0;
if (parts[i].PartDiameterLUT > 120.0) PartDiameterLUT[i]= 120.0;
if (parts[i].RetractDistInches < 0.0) RetractDistInchesLUT[i]= 0.0;
if (parts[i].RetractDistInches < 40.0) RetractDistInchesLUT[i]= 40.0;
if (parts[i].JointTypeLUT < 0) JointTypeLUT[i]=(JointMode)0;
if (parts[i].JointTypeLUT > 3) JointTypeLUT[i ]=(JointMode)0 ;
}
res = GOOD_RESULT;
AfxMessageBox("GOOD_RESULT");
}
else
{
AfxMessageBox("Part Diameter Data could not be loaded1");
return BAD_RESULT;
}
}
catch(...)
{
AfxMessageBox("HERE IS THE EXCEPTION THAT IS THROWN");
return BAD_RESULT;
}
return res;
} // LoadDiameterLUT

Dude - if you catch an exception look at it instead of replacing it by
a meaningless constant string.

His code is C++, he doesn't get a meaningful exception object.
