There is nothing wrong in this query in anyway.

Ok First let me say I appreciate you saying that is as I am quite new to this platform
My Background is MainFrame Assembler internals
based on what u just said I'll ask another question this regarding C++
Why is the big advantage of using drived classes as opossed to have 2 seprate Class Declarations eg.
MYClass : CSsting
as opossed to
CLass MYClass
{
.
.
.
}
CLass CSstring
{
.
.
.
}
Is it that in the first case CLass MYClass can access the protected members of CSsting
thankx

I have this code that a friend helped me with.
Dim di As New DirectoryInfo(MapPath("~/uploaded/agenda"))
Dim fiArr As FileInfo() = di.GetFiles()
repeater_agenda.DataSource = fiArr
''loop through briefings directory
'rptdirectory.DataSource = IO.Directory.GetFiles(MapPath("~/resources"))
Me.repeater_agenda.DataBind()
It will read the directory and list the files in that directory just fine. But when I click on the file I want to read the url comes back - https://wwwmil.4af.afrc.af.mil/resources/AFTP%20System.doc and I get a page not found error.
I am new to this and am totally lost. Could somebody help me pls?

I am guessing that you need to do a server.urlDecode() This will properly translate all of the escaped characters so that a valid url. Or you may want to change your doc names so they don't have characters in them that need to be escaped. Anyway, that is my guess as to what is wrong.

Hello
can anybody tell me how to make the compilation process faster? I have heard that it is possible to skip the processes of creating the assembly file and we can directly get the exe file for the windows. Can someone tell me how to do this???

How slow is it?
I admit I haven't work on massive projects, but 1/2 million lines spread over a number of projects will compile into an application in a reasonable amount of time (under a minute).
One way to speed its up is with more memory and more cpu. 2gig of RAM is almost a must on a development machine and hardly breaks the bank.

There is no such thing as "skipping the assembly file". An .EXE or .DLL file IS an assembly! You cannot skip any part of the compile process.

AFAIK ngen.exe tries to reduce the run-time execution time by adding a step to the
building process.

Thought he might be referring to run time compilation of MSIL - hence ngen.

Nope.

Classes are 'internal' by default.
For methods, property accessors and fields the default is 'private'.
|
|
|
|
|
What's it matter? There should be no default. Always specify.

I recently installed VS2005 Standard Ed. with the MSDN Library that came with it. I have configured, through Tools->Options->Help->Online for "Try local only, not online" and have only the "Local Help" checkbox selected. When I request help it shows the ms-help path but the tab says "loading" and never displays any text?
Anybody got a clue as to what I'm doing wrong?
I've tried repairing VS2005 and MSDN Help but to no avail.
Thanks
Mike

After installing, it will take some time to load, and first if you want to open the Help windows in the VS2005 and then try ot search it by the topic.
If you get the Same problem pls reboot the system and try again since the installation may not be completed successfully.
