Yes.
seemamltn wrote: ut where I have to use

Anywhere you like. The Request.Form collection is available during the entire process of creating the page.
Page_Load is generally used for this.

What do you mean? In what way would you refer to it, and why?

I have a listbox with multi-select options.Upon selection some rows are displayed and then i have a form passed to a child form control and upon return i loose the values. I finally managed to get the values in an array,but now i do not know how to set the values of this listbox.
When i say Listbox.selectedindex it just highlights the last value
Any help?
thanks

You have to loop into to the Array and do like the below,
ListBox1.Item(i).Selected = True
Here i would be the Index of the Item with is previously selected.

I have a classic ASp Page at server. How Can I transfer the data from classic asp page from server to a Asp.net (aspx) page.copuld you please provide me coding

Here are two common ways to transfer data in an ASP/ASP.NET scenario. The first is a system in which servers transfer data based on a key provided by clients. This unique key identifier allows the two servers to contact each other directly and exchange the necessary information. You might see this in a passport-style authentication system. This article, however, uses a second method of transferring data. Instead of passing a unique token through the client, the data itself will be encrypted and transferred via the client to its destination server.
Inside the DataManager.dll file, the Encryption class contains all the methods needed to encrypt data that will be transferred via the client. Behind the scenes the Encryption class uses a hash table to store key-value pairs added by calling the EncryptValue methods.
public void EncryptValue(String strKey,
String strValue)
{
data.Add(strKey, strValue);
TextWriter tw = new StringWriter();
MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream();
serializer.Serialize(ms, data);
encryptedData = Encrypt(
ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetString(ms.ToArray()),
"KEY");
}
Hope this will Help you.

Hi.
I have a SSIS package named TESTPACKAGE on the 2005 SQL Server.
How I can exeucte it from ASP.NET?
I found some articels that refer to Microsoft.SQLServer assembly but I use older .NET Framework version (1.1) and this assembly is not availabe for me in Visual Studio (2003).
I read something about DTEXEC command. Can I use it in the Stored Procedure to run SSIS. I used this code in the Stored Procedure to run DTS package on the previsous/older SQL Server version.
CREATE PROCEDURE dbo.exportData AS<br />
Exec master..xp_cmdshell <br />
'DTSRUN /SMYSERVER /NTESTDTS /Umyaccess /Pmypassword'<br />
GO
Thank you,

Thank you. As I understand this is a Stored Procedure, right? The other question I have is: can I just run this command separetly from my code:
EXEC master..xp_cmdshell 'DTEXEC /sq "TEST_PACKAGE_NAME" /ser TEST_SERVER'
Package doesn't accept any parameters. I created it when I was importing test.txt file and selected the option to create package on the fly. By the way how can I modify it if needed?
Thanks a lot.

Apols, this is probably a VERY stupid question!
I'm a C# programmer for a "living" (lol) and not done any ASP before...however I've written a couple of small apps as a hobby - but people have commented that they want to use them but don't because they don't want to download/install the .Net framework to their PC.
Seems lots of people are "scared" of .Net! Doesn't help when the app .msi is 350kb and .Net another 25MB!!
So, I thought ASP might be the answer.
The apps are for the Nike+iPod sports kit...and one of my requirements would be to read files direct from the iPod (user chosen filepath), do the processing and then write the amended files back to the iPod.
Is that possible in ASP?
Any advice VERY gratefully received...I thought I'd better ask now before diving straight in to something I know little about! lol
Thanks everyone.

OK, now I AM confused...I've been reading around and come across ActiveX!
What's the difference between ActiveX and an ASP.Net "control"?

When I use Server.Transfer["ProcessForm.aspx"]; my btn_click event
it gives me following error message
only assignments, call, increment, decrement, and new object expressions can be used as a statement
cannot apply indexing with [] to an expression of type 'method group'

Server.Transfer is a method, not an indexed property... you should use parentheses ( ) rather than square brackets [] around the parameters:
Server.Transfer("ProcessForm.aspx");
Hope this helps

Hi,
I am using a custom asp:Login control, and I am having difficulty in setting the colour of the failure text. This is what I have:
<asp:Login
ID="MySignIn"
DestinationPageUrl="~/Account/Default.aspx"
runat="server">
<LayoutTemplate>
<!-- Here I have my user name and password controls -->
</LayoutTemplate>
<FailureTextStyle ForeColor="Red" />
</asp:Login>
If there is an invalid sign in then the text is still black.
Please can someone advise?

Hey dude
You have posted lot of questions regarding login control n I hope u must have some more questions in ur mind. So its better to read about Login Control in detail from : http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178329.aspx[^].
Well if text color is always in Black then I think you have written some code for it in CSS that force label's color always to be BLACK.

Hi,
This is the first time I use ASP.net and I have some question:
1) I have some controls on a web form and I would like to change their location dynamically from the code based on user action. Is it possible? how?
2) Their is something that replace the MessageBox? I see that their is a snippet for MessageBox.show() but how can I use it?
Thank in advance for an answer.

Thanks, but this is not very helpful...
Can you give me at least, a tip or some keywords...

1) Well it greatly depends how the layout itself is done. If you need a specific control, you can use the FindControl method. Then remove/add it from/to the desired collection or set its properties accordingly.
2.) Have a look at the javascript alert method. If you want to display a message after the page has loaded:
Page[.ClientScript].RegisterStartupScript(typeof(Page), "scriptname", "<script type=\"text/javascript\">alert('Your message');</script>"; For events:
CheckBox1.Attributes.Add("onclick", "alert('clicked');"); For situations where you might want to cancel postback depending on user interaction the confirm can be used
Button1.Attributes.Add("onclick", "return confirm('Are you sure you want a postback to happen?');");
