Hi,
I have an ASUS P535 and I have a problem with GPS. If I use TomTom Navigator, I don't have any problem, but if I use the gps sample from Microft I have the next problem:
- Sample project: Microsoft.WindowsMobile.Sample.Location (ProgramFiles\Windows CE Tools\wce500\Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK\Samples\Cs\Gps)
- Error: In the function WaitForGpsEvents the code stop indefinitily WaitForMultipleObjects
- The Microsoft sample, haven't any problem in HTC P3300
- The code and error:
private void WaitForGpsEvents()
{
lock (this)
{
bool listening = true;
IntPtr handles = Utils.LocalAlloc(12);
Marshal.WriteInt32(handles, 0, stopHandle.ToInt32());
Marshal.WriteInt32(handles, 4, deviceStateChangedHandle.ToInt32());
Marshal.WriteInt32(handles, 8, newLocationHandle.ToInt32());
while (listening)
{
int obj = WaitForMultipleObjects(3, handles, 0, -1); (!!!!!ERROR STOP HERE indefinitely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
if (obj != waitFailed)
{
switch (obj)
...
{
case 0:
// we've been signalled to stop
listening = false;
break;
case 1:
// device state has changed
if (deviceStateChanged != null)
{
deviceStateChanged(this, new DeviceStateChangedEventArgs(GetDeviceState()));
}
break;
case 2:
// location has changed
if (locationChanged != null)
{
locationChanged(this, new LocationChangedEventArgs(GetPosition()));
}
break;
}
}
}
// free the memory we allocated for the native handles
Utils.LocalFree(handles);
// clear our gpsEventThread so that we can recreate this thread again
// if the events are hooked up again.
gpsEventThread = null;
}
}
Some idea or solution?
Thank you

Does the Asus provide gps sharing through a virtual port scheme. If so this may be your problem. The workaround would be to implement your own polling and NMEA sentence data parsing routine.
I experienced a problem on an HP Travel Companion with the serial port data received events when the virtual port feature was being used. The virtual port feature is intended for sharing of the gps port by multiple applications.
When I disabled the feature and accessed the port directly the data received event was fired. If I enabled the feature I had to use a polling routine to get the serial port data.
I do not think that this is a bug. I am not sure how I would implement a data received event for multiple listeners when using virtual ports.

Hello,
I am trying to implement a feature on the PDA Application (Windows CE/ C#). There is a button and a label. While this button is pressed and remains pressed, keep changing/incrementing the content of the label.
This seems to fit a mouse down/up event very well, but unfortunately there is no mouse down/up for the button on .NET compact Framework 2.0.
Thanks for helping,

The only way that I know to do this is to make your own button class derived from control. Then you can use the mouse events from the control class.

I program 2 software for PC and Pocket PC for Socket connection to a Socket server. I have sent a string to Socket server, and receive a string. My problem is: this code run properly with PC, but not for Pocket PC. With Pocket PC, the string that receive from Socket server is not properly, less than the string received for PC.
Can you help me! Thanks very much!

Since my question in the C# forum did not get the right results (or with other words: None *G*), I better ask herein.
All I need is simply a hit-test on a polygon, means to detect of a point is laying within my polygon.
There is no polygon class in .NET CF 2.0 (requires common .NET 3.0), and there is no support for GraphicsPath to build a region other than circles, rects, etc...
Is there any Polygon class out there for me that would support a hit-test? Just giving it the 2-dimensional points which create the polygon, and checking if another point is in it.
Thanks in advance

|
Since there was no ready-to-use class and I was not about to write an own polygon class that can handle complex forms and calculates for intersection or point in polygon, I made an quick hack. :-p
I simply use a temporary white bitmap in the memory, I make DrawPolygon into with red, and then check for the pixel where the point to check is.
I know, dirty hack, but it works under .NET CF where I have no GraphicsPath etc.

Hi,
I would like to change the font and size of text in static text...
I have been able to change color. here are the command lines I use to do that.
pDC->SetBkMode(TRANSPARENT);
pDC->SetTextColor(RGB(0, 0, 255));//blue
But have not found a say to set the font or font size. Is it possible to set the font size and color for a static text control in MS CE C++ (v4.0)? If it is can anyone give me a hint of how to do this?
Thanks

Create a CFont object and use SelectObject to select it into the DC. Save the return value. Once you've finished with your font, use SelectObject again to select the previous font back into the DC (this is important to ensure that your font object is disposed of properly).
This is assuming you're drawing your text with DrawText or TextOut or similar. If you want to affect the font of a static control, create a CFont object that has a lifetime at least as long as the control (for example, make it a member of the dialog class) and call SetFont on the control.
For more, read "Programming Windows, Fifth Edition" by Charles Petzold (dates from 1998, but still completely as relevant as ever) or "Programming Windows with MFC, Second Edition" by Jeff Prosise (equally old, equally still relevant).

Hi all.
I have developed a mobile web page in ASP.NET and it runs fine when running it on its own in VS.NET. I need to run it from a mobile device emulator to see how it looks,etc. I have tried this in the browser of the emulator :"http://localhost:2175/DemoGhostDigest/MobileArticle.aspx" but it says I am not connected. I specify the proxy name and port numbers, yet it still says no connection.
Am I missing something? Please assist.
Thanks.

yes i am using 2005.
I am using Pocket PC 2003 2nd edition. I go to active sync menu->Tools->connect via DMA.
This is not working.
When i go to options and try 2 choose PC to sync to, the list is empty.
Thanks for your help.

When running in Visual Studio, you may well be using the standalone web server.
ActiveSync only proxies standard ports. You need to be running on port 80, and you probably therefore need to get your website running in IIS.
