Hi Dave
I have written a small VB.NET app which includes a webbrowser control. It works fine but when playing flash games from websites I cannot get the arrow keys to respond. The flash game uses the arrow keys for playing a game. The arrow keys work fine in Internet Explorer. Any ideas?
thanks

can you give me a specific error message?
here are 2 posibels:
1: you haven't build you project yet (you have to build the project in order to see your usercontrol in the toolbox and everytime you have changed something about the usercontrol)
2: you have declared your own constructor with variabels and have no constructor without variabels. If this is the case you can not drag and drop your usercontrol on to your form. you can only add one in code (dynamicly)

Have you compiled the user control project? Have you added a reference in your windows forms test project to your user control project?

Hi! All,
Can anybody gimme an idea of multi-threading in VB 6.0? I am a learner in VB.
Thanks and Regards,

VB is not supported to OOPS so we cannot make a threading concept in vb

If you're just learning VB6, this is WAY beyond your skill level. Threading in an environment that doesn't support it is not easy. The VB6 debugger cannot handle multiple threads of execution so debugging the code is not supported and will crash the IDE. If you don't know anything about threading, VB6 is NOT the language to use to learn it.
I seriously suggest moving up to VB.NET if you want to learn a current language and learn about threading. The Visual Studio 2005 IDE fully supports debugging multi-threaded code.

what is meant by "with constructor"?
|
|
|
|
|
what do you mean exactly
a constructor is the methode that is called when you initialize a form or a object
a constructor is always in the following format
public sub new()
initializecomponent() ' only on a form and in every constructor
end sub
you can ad variabels between the ( and ) of the new
you can also ad serveral constructors to 1 object or form
hope this helps

I know that what is a constructor. but i want to know "with constructor" which is present in only vb.net but not in c#

I want to invisibly control webbrowser control iwebbrowser2 in form
How to send a click to webbrowser control iwebbrowser2 control it clicks ok on simple html but if there is iframe or frame then it does not click on it
Any suggestions?
I don’t want to click by parsing html code body.outerhtml, tagname ("A").click
Private Sub Command2_Click()
Dim lHandle As Long
lHandle = GetHandle(ie)
MsgBox lHandle
SendClick lHandle, Val(Text2.Text), Val(Text3.Text)
End Sub
Public Sub SendClick(lnghWND As Long, X As Long, Y As Long)
Dim lngResult As Long
Dim lnglParam As Long
lnglParam = (Y * &H10000) + X
lngResult = SendMessage(lnghWND, WM_LBUTTONDOWN, 0&, ByVal lnglParam)
lngResult = SendMessage(lnghWND, WM_LBUTTONUP, 0&, ByVal lnglParam)
txtlog.Text = lnghWND & " " & X & " " & Y & vbCrLf & txtlog.Text
End Sub

My idea is to control IE instance by software
I want to solve my problems in two ways
First one is by controlling IE by mouse_event with cursorpos but not with sendmesage or postmessage API.
I want to invisibly control IE instance and click on it where I want to by sending mouse_event, but without user notice, is there any chance?
Is it possible to control IE for example in background while PC is idle and screensaver works?
Or perhaps when PC is idle detect it and show JPEG screenshot and work with mouse_event on background, so to call behind the scene?
Or perhaps in parallel user mode FAST USER SWITCH terminal service?
I don’t want to click by parsing html code body.outerhtml, tagname ("A").click
Any suggestions or any ideas with technical details?

No. You have no choice but to use mouse messages and the SendMessage API call.
This is a really bad idea. Trying to control another piece of software by pushing keyboard and mouse messages is notoriously unreliable, no matter what you do to implement the "control" method.
What are you doing with this that can't be done with the web request classes? What's the ultimate goal of "controlling IE"?

Hi!
I have a cuestion, i working in a application who must open a port to tcp comunication, i haven't any problem except if the windows xp firewall are activate, he jump and show a alert, is posible shutdown the firewall by code to what no lock my port?, thanks very much for your help.
|
|
|
|
|
Can you shut it down? No. It wouldn't be much of a firewall if any piece of software could just shutdown the firewall whenever it wanted, now would it? You can add your application and the ports it listens to the firewall using the Firewall API. The documentation is found here[^]. There is no support built into the .NET Framework, so you'll have to P/Invoke the API calls.
The Windows XP Firewall doesn't block outgoing connections, only incomming.
