Hi Guys,
Below is the content of stylesheet.css. My problem is this - when I call the class sublink1 the font will not change. Is there anything I need to to do first before applying it to my ASP.Net source code? It's very weird, because when I tried using the "sublink" it will work, but when I used the "sublink1" it won't work. And I need to used them both.
Thanks in advance Guys.
My souce code that calls class sublink1 - But it won't work. Why?
<a href="#" class="sublink">Click here</a> - it will work

Did you change your style sheet while working on the site ? Perhaps the old one is being cached ?

I am working first locally in my machine thru Visual Web Developer tool where the error occurs.
Do I have to empty the cache? And how am I going to do that?

CTRL-F5 forces a full page refresh, I believe.

It really won't work.
I always use Ctrl+F5 every time I executed my aspx. But still it won't work. It's been 2 days already and I am stucked with this problem.

That's not Ctrl-F5 to debug your application, but Ctrl-F5 in Internet Explorer (which forces a full refresh of the page).

Hi Chris,
You know what, I just don't know what happened, but it's working now after I turn-off my pc and start it again.
It's really weird sometimes
Anyway, thanks Chris

Use the "ignore HTML" option when you post markup code.
I have tested your code, and it works just fine. Perhaps you should put some more visible changes in the hover state than just a subtle color change.

I don't see anything wrong with your CSS (apart from lots of duplication - see below) so its probably a problem elsewhere. Those links you posted don't go anywhere.
How about this for a smaller style sheet: (note it will style all your hyperlinks, you'll probably want to add a parent class name to the a selector)
body<br />
{<br />
background: "#ffffff";<br />
}<br />
a<br />
{<br />
font-family: Arial, sans, sans-serif;<br />
font-weight:bold;<br />
text-decoration:none;<br />
color: #999999;<br />
}<br />
a:hover<br />
{<br />
color: #0066cc;<br />
}<br />
a.sublink<br />
{<br />
font-size: 9pt;<br />
}<br />
a.sublink:hover<br />
{<br />
font-size: 12pt;<br />
}<br />
a.sublink1<br />
{<br />
font-size: 8pt;<br />
}<br />
a.sublink1:hover<br />
{<br />
font-size: 8pt;<br />
}

hi guy
is there any way to perform paging like datagrid with asp.net 1.1 datalist control ,
thanks in advance
best regards
hello

Hi,
You will have to create custom paging. (Write a store procedure which takes input of current page and page size and returns number of records equal to page size. Then you will have to manage this in your code.
Search in code project articles section, you will find couple of examples.
Hope that helps.

hi there,
I'm using iis 5 to run an asp (not .net) application. I have custom error pages defines for the http errors 500 through 502 with an url value of /status_500.asp . i then created a testpage which does nothing more then a division by zero, hoping the error-page (there is just a response.write on it) will show up. whatever i do, i always get the standard runtime error page instead of my status_500.asp.
does anyone know this problem? any help is greatly appreceated!

Use the body onload event.
No, I won't write the code for you but it is a simple matter to accomplish.
Literally a function with a single line of code if you don't want to style it and only a few lines if you want to customize it.
See HTML DOM createPopup() Method[^]

Or better yet, just don't use popups! they are the bane of every web user and should be avoided at all costs!

Here are the files:
Calling page:
<script type="text/javascript">
function getProduct() {
var xmlHttp, myurl;
myurl = "edit/vs_sprite.php";
try { xmlHttp=new XMLHttpRequest();
}
catch (e) {
try {
xmlHttp=new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP");
}
catch (e) {
try {
xmlHttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
}
catch (e) {
alert("Your browser does not support AJAX!");
return false;
}
}
}
xmlHttp.onreadystatechange=function() {
if(xmlHttp.readyState==4) {
document.getElementById("product_box").innerHTML=xmlHttp.responseText;
} else {
document.getElementById("product_box").innerHTML="please wait...";
}
}
xmlHttp.open("GET",myurl,false);
xmlHttp.send(null);
}
var c=0;
var t;
var tm=1;
function timedCount() {
getProduct();
c=c+1;
t=setTimeout("timedCount()",tm);
tm=12000;
}
timedCount();
</script>
<div id="product_box" class="right_content">
<p class="titles">Virtual Showroom</p>
<p class="copy"><a href="index.php?p=4">[CLICK HERE ]</a> to see all of our vehicles.</p>
</div>
Code for vs_sprite.php:
<?php
require_once('../Connections/myconn.php');
mysql_select_db($database_MoElev, $MoElev);
$query_rs = "SELECT * FROM vehicle ORDER BY rand() LIMIT 1";
$rs = mysql_query($query_rs, $MoElev) or die(mysql_error());
$row_rs = mysql_fetch_assoc($rs);
?>
<br />
<p class=titles>Virtual Showroom</p>
<p class="copy">
<a href="index.php?p=22&vehicleid=<?php echo $row_rs['id']; ?>">
<?php
$id = $row_rs['id'];
$query_rsp = "SELECT link FROM tblImages WHERE vid = $id";
$rsp = mysql_query($query_rsp, $MoElev) or die(mysql_error());
$row_rsp = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsp);
?>
<img src="edit/<?php echo $row_rsp['link']; ?>" border=0 style="height:75px;width:100px;">
</a>
<br />
<span class="smallcopy"><?php echo $row_rs['title']; ?></span><br />
<span class="smallcopy">Price: $<?php echo $row_rs['price']; ?></span>
</p>
<p class="copy"><a class="more" href="index.php?p=22&vehicleid=<?php echo $row_rs['id']; ?>">more info</a></p>
<p class="copy"><a href="index.php?p=4">[CLICK HERE ]</a> to see all of our vehicles.</p>
In IE7, the refresh keeps pulling the same record from the database, but with Firefox, it pulls a random record, as it is supposed to. Any ideas?
