Hello all,
I'm stuck with the problem of starting a command line process in C#. There is an application called "HtmlAsText.exe" that converts HTML file into Text file. It is a window based application that can be run on command line as well like,
C:> E:\HtmlAsText.exe /run "E:\Application\config.cfg"
This is the option provided with this application to run on command line, otherwise bydefault it is window based application. "config.cfg" is configuration file that is used to tell the application about the location and name of the file. It works fine if we run it on command line but i dont know how to write in C#. these are the steps
1) start a comand-line process
2) feed file path
3) feed switch i.e /run and
4) then provide configuaratiuon file path
i want every thing to be done in hidden form and just require output file generated to use it further in my application

Have a look at the Process class.

You can get the HTML of any site you want, in code. It's pretty trivial. To click on an HTML element and get it's text value, is more complex, but it can be done, because firebug does it. It does it within the browser however, that could be how it does it.

Hi all,
I'm using datepicker (I name it dt1 and dt2)to get the value of date range. Here's the SQL String :
string StrSql = "SELECT Purch.PurchID, Purch.PurchDate, Purch.PurchType, Purch.PurchTotal, FROM Purch WHERE Purch.PurchDate BETWEEN '" + dt1 + "' AND '" + dt2 + "' ORDER BY Purch.PurchID ASC";
When I execute that to fill my ListView, it gives me an error message :
" Syntax Error Converting datetime from character string."
If anyone has been through this or get a better idea, pls help me .

I thing what would help, or how I did it was like this:
You write a # infront then the value of the Month, the Day and the year.
I hope this should be!
So you have to format the output of the two Datapicker.toString().
I hope that does it.
Cheers

I would be better to get in to the habit of using parameterised queries so you didn't accidentally fall victim to a SQL Injection Attack.
Use parameters, then pass DateTime objects to them.

Thanx Fatbuddha ,
But there's no need to change the code at all.
There's only need to change the settings Format
for datepicker control and turned it into "Short".
Because MS SQL recognize short format like this
"MM/dd/YYYY"
Keep share the knowledge

Daniel

I had do to this once for homework so I had to use Access.

You should never use a format like MM/dd/YYYY as this is ambigious (you can't tell it apart from dd/MM/YYYY for any day in the 1-12 range). If you are so unfortunate you have to store a date in text format always use ISO format (YYYY-MM-dd). Luckily in this case there is no need to use strings. Use parameters in the SQL statement instead.

Yes, complete waste of time/resources to convert a DateTime to a String and then back to a DateTime. Learn it the right way now, so you won't have a bad habit later when it really counts.

I wannt to read or recognize properties of objects form any website.
how can i able to capture all properties of any object of website

A website doesn't have objects, it just has HTML. You can capture and save that any time you like.

I am not sure if that is what you wanted;
private void Form1_MouseDown(object sender, MouseEventArgs e)
{
//this will fire when you click mouse button on the form.
}
|
|
|
|
|
write in a form or control :
this.MouseClick += event handling.....

|

Is there a way to get the mouse position in a window with C#?

If you're not capturing the mouse move event and storing the position, I think you can get it from Cursor.Position, or something like that. Yes, that is right.

{
//e.Y --> y position of your mouse
//e.X --> X position of your mouse
Point p = new Point(e.X, e.Y);
}

I got it working put with
pos = System.Windows.Forms.Cursor.Position.X;
how do I put the code such that its in an event???? sorry I never really touched C# before and i am an embedded C programmer doing C#
