Hi,
Simply.. You may use Panel control for each group. It has the attribute "DefaultButton".

In ASP.NET 2.0 you can define the DefaultButton per Panel.
Therefore use two Panels (Panel 1 containing TextBox 1, Panel 2 containing TextBox 2)
Define DeautlButton on Panel 1 to be Button 1 and accordingly for the second Panel.

Hi,
I was automating Word9.0 from an ASP.NET application. But it was giving lots of security problems especially in basic authentication.
If i automate word from a windows service, will it resolve the security issues.
Or using a Windows service functionality from a web application is
complicated or not ?
Will it give problems in Basic authentication then too ?

As I said in the C# function, your code snippet is half C# and half jscript. Where is it called ? You need to use the client side Id, and you need to use document.getElementById to find the control from that id. Then you can set the text on the client side, and it will persist on the server.

I am working in a project for an intranet network, but the users have to provide username and password to enter into the application.
1) Is Windows authentication the best suited for this?
2) Can Membership.validateuser() method be used with this?
3) If so, how can I use the alternate code
for 'FormAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(...)'?
Please help me with an answer. Thank you.

If you want that the users have to enter username and password then Windows authentication is not the right choice. You would use Windows authentication to allow access to the web application by using the login information of the host system.
I'd suggest to use Forms authentication to force an explicit login.

Thank you for the reply.
But, using Windows authentication and using a table in a custom database to check the users credentials to enter this particular application. Is that a bad solution?
|
|
|
|
|
Surely not a bad solution, bad if you want that the users have to explicitly log in on a login form then I'd still suggest Forms authentication.

Got one more doubt. If we are using Forms authentication cookies will have to be used. In an intranet environment is that common?
In windows authentication do we use cookies at any place? atleast in using roles?
Thanks a lot for the help
|
|
|
|
|
Yes it is true that normally Cookies are required to run Forms authetication. Forms authentication can be run cookieless but I would not suggest this (the sessionkey is integrated into the URL).
I cannot tell you whether using cookies on the target intranet is an issue. I would say no but I don't know the restrictions on that Intranet.
