Somewhere in your code (find it yourself!) you are assigning to dropDown.SelectedValue = something, and that something is not one of dropdownlist's items.

I am trying to create a Custom control inherint CompositeDataBoundcontrol. I have to bind this Control with the CSLA Datasource. Following is the simple code of the control.
protected override void PerformSelect()
{
if (!IsBoundUsingDataSourceID)
this.OnDataBinding(EventArgs.Empty);
GetData().Select(DataSourceSelectArguments.Empty, this.OnDataSourceViewSelectCallback);
RequiresDataBinding = false;
MarkAsDataBound();
OnDataBound(EventArgs.Empty);
}
#endregion
private void OnDataSourceViewSelectCallback(System.Collections.IEnumerable retrievedData)
{
// Call OnDataBinding only if it has not already been
// called in the PerformSelect method.
if (IsBoundUsingDataSourceID)
{
OnDataBinding(EventArgs.Empty);
}
// The PerformDataBinding method binds the data in the
// retrievedData collection to elements of the data-bound control.
CreateChildControls(retrievedData,true);
}
protected override int CreateChildControls(System.Collections.IEnumerable dataSource, bool dataBinding)
{
if (dataSource != null)
{ Button btn = new Button();
btn.Click+=new EventHandler(btn_Click);
} pnl.Controls.Add(btn); this.Controls.Add(pnl); return 0;}
void btn_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
System.Diagnostics.Debug.Write("Clicked");
}
My problem with the code is. When I click on Button the postback occurs but control is not going to event handler. Please help me. Where I am wrong>?

You can get the .NET 3.0 framework from the microsoft website. The new Visual Studio, codenamed Orcas, is currently in beta testing and I'm not sure of its general availability. There are several plugins however for VS 2005 that allow you to take advantage of .NET 3.0 features like Workflow Foundation. Google it up!

Hi All,
I have assigned a dataset to a checkboxlist control…
The dataset is returned from this query
SELECT ITEM_ID,ITEM_NAME,ITEM_DESC FROM ITEM_TABLE
I have assigned ITEM_IDto DataValueField and
ITEM_NAME to DataTextField.
Everything is working perfectly.
Now i want to display a tooltip whenever mouse is moved on a list item..
Each item must display the value in the field ITEM_DESC as tooltip
Is there anyway to assign the field ITEM_DESC to the checkboxlist as tooltip??
|
|
|
|
|
loopthru your checkbox list and add the following code
note: lc is a id name of the checkbox list
I think your problem has solved
for (int i = 0; i < lc.Items.Count; i++)
{
lc.Items[i].Attributes.Add("title", lc.Items[i].Text);
}
Thanks
Warm Regards

You need to store the login status on the server, and yuor pages need to check it as they load. The browser just goes back to the page it was at, it's up to you to cause the page lifecycle to render something else, or to redirect to a login page.

One way is to Store your UserName at the server side and check this user Name on each page when the page gets loaded If user log outs make the varaible null at the server. So that Even After user log out and click back button he will be able to view last visited page as it is coming from the Cache but can't do anything

i'm using excel to export some data to a chart, but i'm having some problems with changing the data in in the series.
i've declared this to get the series
a colleague of mine sent me this line
not right if this is the proper forum but here goes
i'm using vs2003 to develop an asp.net solution and i'm using excel to export some data to a chart, but i'm having some problems with changing the data in in the series
i've declared this to get the series
<br />
<br />
Dim ser As Excel.Series '# primeira series collection<br />
<br />
Dim sc As Excel.SeriesCollection = CType(oChart.Chart.SeriesCollection, Excel.SeriesCollection)<br />
ser = sc.Item(sc.Count)<br />
i'm using this to change the values of the series<br />
sc.item(1).XValues = "=Dados!R3C1:R" & maxapos & "C1"<br />
sc.item(1).Values(1) = "=Dados!R3C2:R" & maxapos & "C2"<br />
sec.item.Values(2) = "=Dados!R3C19:R" & maxapos & "C19"<br />
<br />
i've been changing the code but having the same results
to explain a little better, Dados is the worksheet, R and C are row and column, maxapos is a variable that recieves a value.
but somehow the data isn't changed
in order to see it correctly i have to change it directly in excell
any ideas???
i know this is possible, because currently the it works with asp, so in asp.net can it be done or not??
any ideas??
help would be apreciatted
but somehow the data isn't change
any ideas???
help would be appreciated

can anyone point me in the right direction?
the series values are stuck and can't be changed, the code i got here doesn't do a thing.
the charts are already created in a template, what i want is to assign the xvalues, values properties of the series to this:
this is the .values property of the second series:
=Dados!R3C8:R" & max_D_pos & "C8
Dados is the worksheet
R3C8 are the rows and columns , i'm using R1C1 style reference
max_D_pos is a variable declared that recieves a value
any ideas
i'm going crazy with this

have you bound the data:-
<asp:Label ID="_name" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("Name") %>' />
"Name" being the column returned from the database?
|
|
|
|
|
Use itemtemplates!!
Just inside the item template write
<asp:templatefield headertext="Column 1">
<itemtemplate>
<asp:label id="Label1" runat="server">
<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Column 1") %>
and make the autogeneratecolumns option to false!!1
It will populate the grid!!!

I'm not sure what you're asking here. If the username you are asked for is not available, you need to think of algorithms that generate ones that are, such as rearranging the string, or adding a number to it.

you can tell them, they have .aspx at the end of the pages.
