The devils strike again. For the past one hour, the following message keeps hitting on every page load.
An error has occurred
Sorry!
The maximum length of time our servers were willing to spend on your request has passed. They are extremely busy and ask that you let them take a quick breather before trying again.

Voting for a post displays the "real-time" progress and "You voted" legends, but fails to update the total number of votes.

How about we have a third option for "Hasn't searched" for when people obviously haven't even tried the most basic of searches and are out just to get someone else to do thier work for them?

A "Never said thank you" button would be good too lol

Yup. Message sans Thank you shows the level of gratitude of the asker and also reflects his mental attitude.

Forum message vote uses AJAX without full page refresh but vote mechanism for articles still uses traditional POST and refreshes the page.

It's part of the "rewrite" we keep hearing about, they're introducing the features that are most important first

Since we have been having so many jokes, and so many of them reposts, maybe we could have a board just for jokes and some way for a person to search if it has been posted before.

There already is a "Joke" message type.

A bear walks into a bar and says "i'll have a pint of..... beer." The barman says "Why the long pause?" The bear replies "I don't know - I've always had them".

And remove the jokes from the lounge? No way!

Hello,
It's not a critical one but:
The problem ocurse in 'search comments'.
If I put 'Martin#' in Autors Box and search, all is fine.
But if I than press 'next' for switching to next page, the Autors Name changes to 'Martin' and no results where found.
All the best,
Martin

And 'Author' is consistently misspelt in your post as 'Autor'. (the 'h' is missing).

Thanks for pointing this out!
A second, I was thinking of modifing it now.
But I keep it this way! It's my style!
All the best,

Hello,
1)
I was thinking of a possibility (or a must maybe) to give a comment on a vote.
This could prevent the useless lines on the forum like:
"Do not double post!"
"Don't ask for homework!"
"Have you googled?"
An other advantage is (if it is a must from lets say a vote from 1 to 3) that you get a feedback, why you got downvoted. (I see that very often that a question or even an answer got downvoted for no special reason. That sucks!)
There would be the question of anonymity, which should be answered from the CP members, in the forums I guess.
2)
I think a possibility to mark a question as "sufficient answered" would also be interesting.
This flag can only be set from the one who posted the question (of course).
Maybe a way to mark this line would be a modifide "?" symbol!
All the best,
Martin

Martin# wrote: comment on a vote
Did you mean a textual comment on vote that is being applied to a message?
