The structure of your XML is flawed. It should look something like this:
<code><usa>
<state name="Alabama">
<county name="Autauga"/>
<county name="Baldwin"/>
<county name="Barbour"/>
</state>
<state name="Alaska">
<county name="Aluetians East"/>
<county name="Aluetians West"/>
<county name="Anchorage"/>
</state>
</usa> With this structure, when a state is choosen you can use the XPath:
/usa/state[@name='Alaska']/county/@name

Hi all,
I need to use mssoapclient30 to reach a web service which use complex types as parameters and return types. There write in mssoap toolkit documantation use Type Mapper, but could not get understand how to write this file and how to call it in code.
Basiclly I call a service method
var Client = WScript.CreateObject("MSSOAP.SoapClient30"); <br />
Client.mssoapinit("http://abc.com/service.wsdl","","",""); <br />
<br />
var sid = Client.MethodName("abc..."); <br />
<br />
.<br />
.<br />
.
and I don't know what will be if the parameter description says
<complexType name="Alert">
<all>
<element name="tag" type="xsd:string" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" nillable="true" />
<element name="msg" type="xsd:string" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" nillable="true" />
</all>
</complexType>
as parameter to pass method and return type in wsdl.

I need a loop that will reach every XML nodes through XPath in C#

Then you'd be looking for a recursive loop.

I believe using the XPath expression "//*" will do the job if you mean "looping elements".

I have MS Excel 2003 and I cannot even save an image in a Xml Spreadsheet. As far as I know, in order to get that to work, you will have to write a macro (in Excel) that converts a 64-bit encoded string into a graphic, hide the string, and insert the graphic.

hi george,
thanks for your response,
pls help me i am new to xml and computer field can u please explain me where can i get the material for to do this
thanks

In Excel 2003, the macro language is VBA. So, you will need to find code for Visual Basic that does a conversion from a 64-bit encoded string to the graphic format of your choice. Anyway, you will need to learn how to use VBA in Excel. I have never attempted to do such a thing. Thus, you need to do some Googling.

Hello,
I am developing a VB .Net 2005 project.
I have a problem, i have a app.config file which I have entered connection strings and other setting from the project properties tab. This has automatically generated the app.config file for me.
I have edited the app.config myself and entered a new section which I did manually. However, now that I have done this the existing code in the app.config doesn't work.
Summary: If I add my own manually entered config sections with what has been automatically generated. But parts don't work.
If I just add my own manually entered and commit out the rest my own manually works fine.
It doesn't work with both. I was thinking of adding a new app.config file, which has the default name of app1.config.
But I am sure how I would reference each one when the program runs.
The config file is below, my manual section is the appUpdater, at the bottom.
Is there a way that I can include my own manual entered sections?

When defining an XML Schema, is it possible to specify that an attribute is required when another is set to a certain value? For example, if the type attribute of my server element is set to DMZ, then the username and password attributes of the deploy element must be set as well.
Is this possible, or do I just have to enforce it in the code library that consumes the xml file?
Thanks.

Crap. That's what I was thinking, but I was hoping someone would tell me that I was wrong. It'd be nice, though.
Something like:
<xs:attribute name="UserName" use="Conditional" test="some/xpath/@value=dmz"/>

I would appreciate if someone could explain what data I need to pass through to the SHA1 digest function to produce the same DigestValue as in the example below. When I pass the content of the ns1:Operation node I get a completely different DigestValue to that shown in the example! Do I need to add in any other data i.e. another ns value???
Here are the parts of the XML document of interest for this calculation, if you need further data let me know:
<ns1:Operation Id="MsgOperation" soapenv:mustUnderstand="0"
xsi:type="xsd:string" xmlns:ns1="http://www.ros.ie/schemas/service/"

I am using an xml file as a data source for site navigation on my asp website. All but one link points to files that are contained with in the project. Here is an example:
<section>
<id>customers</id>
<image>customers.jpg</image>
<name>Customers</name>
<url>customers/</url>
<subSection>
<id>retail</id>
<name>Retail Cheese Shop</name>
<url>customers/retail/</url>
<detailSection>
<id>logoitems</id>
<name>Alto Logo Items</name>
<url><http://www.companycasuals.com/altodairy/start.jsp</url>
</detailSection>
</subSection>
</section>
The urls all work with one exception. The last <detailsection> points to a website outside of the project.
When I run this I get an error message that says: Cannot use a leading .. to exit above the top directory.
Does anyone know what I would use to exit above the top directory?

I think your chance to get an answer is much higher in the ASP.NET forum as the scope of your question of course involves an XML file but it is nevertheless very ASP.NET specific.
