Hi,
I think you should review XSLT trnsformation. If you're using ASP.NET, you can try <asp:xml> control. There is a good tutorial here

hai every one
i want run aspx page to remote iis
i should copy all source file and paste to remote iis machice
while run the project i will get below mention error
please give me the solution
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

Hi There,
Found an xml article written in 2000 with following example:
XML:
<lineItems>
<lineItem>
<code>42AC5</code>
<title>Loopy Fruit Cereal</title>
<amount>12</amount>
<cost>4.25</cost>
</lineItem>
<lineItem>
<code>H343A</code>
<title>MicroSecond Rice</title>
<amount>14</amount>
<cost>2.35</cost>
</lineItem>
<lineItem>
<code>EA198</code>
<title>Crescent Toothpaste</title>
<amount>18</amount>
<cost>1.95</cost>
</lineItem>
</lineItems>
XSL:
You could then assign the total cost of the entire set of line items to a variable by using some of the built-in functions intrinsic to XPath:
<xsl:variable name="lineItemSubTotals">
<xsl:for-each select="//lineItem">
<subTotal><xsl:value-of select="number(amount)*number(cost)"/></subTotal>
</xsl:for-each>
</xsl:variable>
<xsl:variable name="lineItemsTotal">
<xsl:value-of select="sum($lineItemSubTotals/subTotal)"/>
</xsl:variable>
Implementing the above creates following error:
Reference to variable or parameter 'lineItemSubTotals' must evaluate to a node list.
Any suggestions?

The variable, $lineItemSubTotals, is a tree and not a node set (node list). Thus, you need to use "msxsl:node-set(string)":
<xsl:value-of select="sum(msxsl:node-set($lineItemSubTotals/subTotal))"

You're probably not going to find it on the XML board...

Hi,
A section of my XML file looks like this:
<Products>
<Product>
<ID>SKU001</ID>
<ProductName>Yellow Marker</ProductName>
<ListPrice>45.0</ListPrice>
<Status>1</Status>
</Product>
<Product>
<ID>SKU003</ID>
<ProductName>Blue Marker</ProductName>
<ListPrice>10.45</ListPrice>
<Status>1</Status>
</Product>
</Products>
The tags in the Product tag are the names of my table fields. This file is used to import data into the product table. So I just loop through the elements, check the ID, and update that record.
I have to do a couple of checks. I do a check to see if the <ID></ID> tag is empty because this is my primary key, then it displays an error message. But what happens if there is no ID tag for a particular records, maybe for some or other reason it was not entered into the XML file. How do I check to see if a particular tag exists? Like for example:
<Product>
<ProductName>Blue Marker</ProductName>
<ListPrice>10.45</ListPrice>
<Status>1</Status>
</Product>
This is how I loop:
Dim productNodes As XmlNodeList
Dim productNode As XmlNode
Dim baseDataNodes As XmlNodeList
doc.Load(strPathFile)
productNodes = doc.GetElementsByTagName("Product")
For Each productNode In productNodes
baseDataNodes = productNode.ChildNodes
For Each baseDataNode As XmlNode In baseDataNodes
Next
Next
Please can some one help me.
Regards
ma se

Normally, you create a schema that checks your XML document for invalid structure. However, you can do the following:
XmlNodeList nodes = doc.SelectNodes("/Products/Product[not(ID)]");
if (nodes.Count > 0)

The structure of your XML is flawed. It should look something like this:
<code><usa>
<state name="Alabama">
<county name="Autauga"/>
<county name="Baldwin"/>
<county name="Barbour"/>
</state>
<state name="Alaska">
<county name="Aluetians East"/>
<county name="Aluetians West"/>
<county name="Anchorage"/>
</state>
</usa> With this structure, when a state is choosen you can use the XPath:
/usa/state[@name='Alaska']/county/@name

Hi all,
I need to use mssoapclient30 to reach a web service which use complex types as parameters and return types. There write in mssoap toolkit documantation use Type Mapper, but could not get understand how to write this file and how to call it in code.
Basiclly I call a service method
var Client = WScript.CreateObject("MSSOAP.SoapClient30"); <br />
Client.mssoapinit("http://abc.com/service.wsdl","","",""); <br />
<br />
var sid = Client.MethodName("abc..."); <br />
<br />
.<br />
.<br />
.
and I don't know what will be if the parameter description says
<complexType name="Alert">
<all>
<element name="tag" type="xsd:string" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" nillable="true" />
<element name="msg" type="xsd:string" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" nillable="true" />
</all>
</complexType>
as parameter to pass method and return type in wsdl.

I need a loop that will reach every XML nodes through XPath in C#
|
|
|
|
|
Then you'd be looking for a recursive loop.
