Have you deployed in the system?
or
Testing from your development server?

Hi,
I am having a big problem with the interface and getting quite irritated about it.
This is what I encountered:
I have a table and I inserted two list box into one column which sits side by side of each other like this.
[ListBox1] [ListBox2]
Unfortunately when I open it in the web browser, the listboxes were in stack form like this.
[Listbox1]
[Listbox2]
And when I try to adjust the size of the table column width, it just would not move/change.
Did I miss out some settings or it's just how ASP.net works? Btw, I view it in IE7.

Hi,
Why dont u put them in differennt column?
and if u insist them to be diplayed to in single cell then u can further create a table with two columns inside the cell and put listboxex in those columns.
I hope this will help you.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Chetan,
Thanks, it works quite well for the mean time =)

Well, the simple answer is not to use tables for layout, in case you hadn't heard there a bit antiquated - check out CSS (although I won't lie about its learning curve). However, select elements aren't block level elements so I don't see why they would force a new line. There is obviously something else going on that you're not aware of, have a look at the generated markup to see whats there, and if the width you set for the column is getting set correctly.

Use vertical align in the columns of the table cells.
It solved many a problems for me.
Hope it does for you too.

CSS...alright, shall consider that in my future development since I'd already doen most of my work here, hehe.
Vertical align...shall try that too
Thanks

You might be able to solve this problem via CSS. Try creating a custom CSS class for the list views, with the property { display: inline }.

Ok, will consider that in the future, almost done on my website, hehe, that's why I start to pay attention to my interface

Would Char.Parse[^] be enough? Or what more detail do you need?

That's what happens when you believe what you hear in the schoolyard.

There's a whole System.Crypography namespace full of stuff for encrypting and decrypting stuff.

Hi my dear friends,
We know when we publish a web site by VS .NET default settings, many dlls generates with random names and add a element to page directive wich refers to the particular dll file. When we change a code line in a file and recompiling web site all dll names changes and we have to upload all of dlls . Now , my question is How we can aviod this?
Is there any way to uploading just one dll which we change its code ... ?

Gosh, you're a little lost.
If you're using .NET 2.0, there are serial port classes. However, they are going to run on the server. You're asking in the ASP.NET forum, a web app would typically run javascript only on the client, and is not going to read any ports. You can run .NET controls inside your site, but they are a PITA to deploy, you'd have to have dedicated sites willing to install .NET and also your controls. Then you'd be back to writing .NET code, which would be appropriately asked for, in the forum for the language you use to write them.
http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/SerialCommunication.asp[^] is a Code Project article on using the Serial Port in C#.

Hi!
Iam facing a small problem with ListBox control. I add some items to the ListBox through javascript. But when I PostBack the page, the ListBox gets cleared. How can I stop this. I have done everything such as EnableViewState=True and nowhere in the code Iam clearing the ListBox. What can be the problem.
Thank You

Do you ever set the data source for the list box ? What C# code interacts with your listbox control ?
Setting the data source will cause it to lose any values that were added on the client side, as well as any selection information.

No, Iam just getting the value from listbox in codebehind. Iam adding items in the list box to a DB. Even Iam getting the count of listbox items as 0 while debugging. Why is it showing so.
|
|
|
|
|
when you add items through Javascript (client side), it will not modify the state of listbox items in server side. So after roundtrip to server, it will take only the items existing in server.
Hope it will clear your doubt.
If not, Please learn about server side and client side coding.

Hi friends,
i have one gridview control in asp.net 2.0 page. In that i added properties like pager settings in which page size is 3 and further i added pager-mode like NextPrevFirstLast.
Now what i want is when i click "next" it should display me a string such as "Record No 4 to 6 out of 50" or whatever. And when i click "previous" it should display previous page records with string "Record No 1 to 3 out of 50".
So what could be the possible way of doing so. Kindly help me in this regard.
