Most likely cause is: the set part of your property is assigning a new value to
the property itself, rathet than to some local variable (upper/lower case!).

When you place the Masked Textbox on form and set the Mask property, text box shows the preview of masked format. e.g. if user has selected integer with 5 digit as mask then Mask Textbox will display the text as"_____" in the text box.
At the runtime also user will see "_____" as text in the textbox, until any value is entered. If user enters one digit(say "1") then text in the text box will look like "1____". So dynamically user is guided about the possible formatting and value which user can key in. If I don't want to use the masked text box and i make a control derived from text box how this dynamic preview like masked text box can be implemented?
I request people to look at the functioning of the Masked textbox once for better idea of what I'm looking for. Pls come up with your ideas.

Create a new control that inherits from MaskedTextBox.
I think I'm going to call my next project "Chuck Norris". It's a sure way to guarantee it's unbreakable.

Dave, Thanks for your reply.
But solution suggested by you is not the one I'm looking at. I need to develope the things considering that I'm developing on framework 1.1 and Masked Textbox object doesn't exist at all.
At the most I can derive my custome control from TextBox only.
I just need some ideas from members.
Thanks.

I think you've just answered your own question.
Have a look at this[^] and this[^]. I think you should get a few ideas from the results on the first link.

I went through the links suggested by you but not to much help. If I simply derive from Text bok then lot of effort will be required to bring it to the level of masked textbox. Need to override onpaint, handle keypress n other events n will require lot of testing efforts.
Confused regarding what to do?

It's not that much effort. Still, no pain = no gain. Think of it as a learning curve, it'll do you good.
The other option is to use one of the VS Express editions or buy VS 2005.

Can the node add image do not from imageList?
Or it add image from ImageObject immediate.
If can, how to do?
Thank you.
I have thus of the viewpoint is because of the image use for people's portrait
in IM. the different image is too much.

You cant assign an Image to an TreeNode directly.
But you can add the Image to the existing TreeView.ImageList and then set
the TreeNode.ImageIndex.

Querystring values? Session variables? Viewstate values?
Are you familiar with these?

Why don't you use SoundPlayer class which is built in .NET?

treah wrote: sysRoot = "C:\\WINNT\\Media\\ir_begin.wav";

This does not work, .. removes one level of directory provided there is no filename
in between
try
sysRoot = "C:\\WINNT\\Media\\";
dlg.InitialDirectory = sysRoot; // start in media folder

What is "the script"? What script? Is this a specific script? Or are you using it as a synonym for the language (C# in the context of this forum)

In c#'s .aspx file,we include "JavaScript" file,here in this javascript file..I need to fill up the dropdown list...

That has nothing to do with C#. ASPX files are part of ASP.NET which is a framework. The fact that you can include C# in ASPX files is purely incidental (you can also use VB.NET).
Your question is better asked in the Web Development or ASP.NET forums, not here.

Hi
Can anybody tell me Equivalent namespace of follwoing in vb.net.
using WCPierce.Web;
df
|
|
|
|
|
WCPierce.Web. The namespace doesn't differ just because it's VB and not C#. You do understand the concepts behind .NET don't you?
|
|
|
|
|
when i write equivalent namespace Imports WCPierce.Web.
it dosenot works.It tells namespace cannot found.

Import/using globalises a namespace, it doesn't force the namespace to be present. You need to make sure you have a reference to your dll.

|
|

|
The namespace is language independent.
To start using a namespace you must:
- add to your project a reference to the DLL file (use Visual Studio Solution pane);
- add an Import statement to your VB source file(s)
