My problem is.... if i change the name of any of the controls in an aspx page .... for example there is a textbox... when i change its name... i get an error message "The Directory Name is Invalid". And the IDE resets its name to the previous one. I mean i m not able to change its name.

Probably you would be giving invalid name to them. Can you tell what names are you trying to assign.

I have experience with this problem!
You can try to change its name in HTML tag ID="TextBox1" in source page.
Example :
<asp:textbox <b="">id="TextBox1" runat="server">
Good luck

Problem might be If you change the deafult name in Designer.cs file it create object of textbox and assign delgates to it
If you change the name of the control then it is not valid
Did you tried changing the name of control in some other event like Init or preinit i think that will not give problem
Thanks and Regards

Hi
I'm trying an application in which I have a DropDownList and a ListBox.
At the time of Page load the DropDownList will be populated with the names of USA states from XML and with a name selection in the DropDownList the ListBox should populate with the counties of USA.
I am successful in populating the DropDownList but I'm unable to populate ListBox.
My XML is something like this.....
<USA>
<State name="Alabama">
<Counties>
<a1>Autauga</a1>
<a2>Baldwin</a2>
<a3>Barbour</a3>
</Counties>
</State>
<State name="Alaska">
<Counties>
<a1>Aleutians East</a1>
<a2>Aleutians West</a2>
<a3>Anchorage</a3>
</Counties>
</State>
<State name="Arkansas">
<Counties>
<a1>Arkansas</a1>
<a2>Ashley</a2>
<a3>Baxter</a3>
</Counties>
</State>
</USA>
What is the path for getting all the county names for each State selection.
Suggest me an example.
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. -Thomas A. Edison

I am having a problem in one of my projects in ASP.NET regarding sending a mail....
I have made the programming logic, and tried to send the mail from the web page but what happens actually is, though the mails gets stored in the "Drop" folder of "C:\Inetpub\mailroot\" but i cannot see those mails in my MS outlook 6 though configured for the same.......
the second issue i am having is with the domain name being specified with the SMTPClient.... I have made and alias domain to the default domain in the IIS but if i select the default domain the mail gets stored in the Drop folder (not in outlook though!) but if i select the other domain the mails are found no where.......
I am new to ASP.NET, please teach me with the logic and concept in Configuring SMTP client and Outlook and the theory behind
thanks in advance
