I just installed IIS 5.0 and want to use the aspnet_regiis.exe command utility to register ASP.Net file mappings with IIS.
According to the asp.net book I have, the directory of the utility is:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\Framework\[Version]\aspnet_regiis.exe -i
However, when I checked the directory, there is no Framework folder inside the Microsoft.NET folder.
How do I access this utility?

You need to install Microsoft .NET Framework SDK also. Since you have installed IIS before and then going to install SDK, the setup would implicitly configure ASP.NET for you.

I have installed the .Net framework before installing IIS.
Is there a way to use this utility?

Yes. Open a command prompt, go to:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\[Version]\
and run aspnet_regiis.exe

Framework SDK is not necessary. There is a difference between the .NET Framework and the .NET Framework SDK.

It's under c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework.

I have checked but there is no "Framework" folder inside the Microsoft.Net folder.
Its strange as i have no problems using VStudio 2005.

here is the code i used to create an image as a hyperlink in a gridview:-
<asp:TemplateField>
<code> <ItemTemplate>
<asp:HyperLink ID="_rightArrow" ImageUrl="~/images/LightRightArrow.gif" runat="server" ToolTip="Click to open item" NavigateUrl="~/SelectedOwnSites.aspx" />
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField></code>
I also used :-
<code><asp:ImageField DataImageUrlField="ImageSkinId"></asp:ImageField></code>
The ImageSkinId is the field that was mapping during the databind()

Hi forum
I was wondering if you would be able to assist me I have a table where I have a template column with linkbuttons in each row, i want to be able to allow the users to click the edit button which will select the current record and then open a new form with the data from record to be populated into a text box where they can then press update record, once changed.
I am unsure how to code the method which will deal with the edit button click, to collect data and pass to edit page form
a lot of books tell you how to do the in place editing but, i don't like the way the update and cancel buttons appear upon clicking the edit button, as in some browsers it may then require the page to be made wider, which i feel is bad design
any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi,
I've just worked on something very similar, here is my code:-
protected void _gridView_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
//find the link button for each row being databound
LinkButton linkButton = new LinkButton();
linkButton = (LinkButton)e.Row.FindControl("_name");
//Needed as the first row is for the headings!
if (linkButton != null)
{
//set its CommandArgument so that this can be referenced in the RowCommand Event of the GridView!
linkButton.CommandArgument = e.Row.RowIndex.ToString();
linkButton.CommandName = "ImageClicked";
}
}
protected void _gridView_RowCommand(object sender, GridViewCommandEventArgs e)
{
if ((string)e.CommandName == "ImageClicked")
(
// Convert the row index stored in the CommandArgument property to an Integer.
int rowIndex = Convert.ToInt32(e.CommandArgument);
// Retrieve the row that contains the Linkbutton clicked from the Rows collection.
GridViewRow row = _gridView.Rows[rowIndex];
//use the findcontrol method
TextBox tb = new TextBox();
tb = (TextBox)e.Row.FindControl("_txtName");
)
}
Hope this helps

The VwdCms.CodeViewer is an ASP.NET server control that
automatically colorizes C#, HTML, ASPX, XML, and JavaScript code giving a similar "look and feel"
to the Visual Studio code editors.
The CodeViewer is based on 2 different code parsers 1) VwdCms.Html (an SGML parser that
handles HTML, XML, and ASPX formats) and 2) C# code parsing algorithm (built into the CodeViewer).
Both of the parsers use .NET regular expressions (Regex) to do the majority of the parsing.
Online demos, documentation, and complete source code are all available VWD-CMS Code Colorizer Control

Tell me Jeff. Can you say SPAM?

SPAM?
Perhaps you know of a more appropriate CodeProject forum for making such announcements ... if so, please share with me.
Is giving away free source code SPAM in your book Pete? Is letting other devs know about my site SPAM?
Anyhow, you are entitled to your own opinion, but I believe that there are CodeProject members who will appreciate this post and the web control that I built.
Cheers!

No - and there's a reason why not....unsolicited advertisements (which is what this amounts to) are SPAM - pure and simple, and it's not f***in wanted round here....

Ok guys, so I clearly posted this in the wrong place and maybe it isn't an accident that CodeProject doesn't have a place for this kind of announcement - I can deal with that and obide by the rules.
My intention was to let people know about my new server control, not be a spammer. I make a point to contribute valuable articles and posts to CodeProject because it is a great community and I will continue to do so. I hope that the two of you (Pete and Richard) take into consideration the impact that you have on the overall community when you blast people for doing something that you deem as 'inappropriate behavior'. Kind words and advice (like Christian's post) are far more effective than abusive ones.
Richard, while you seem to think you can speak for the entire CodeProject membership about what is acceptable and what is not, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the use of profanity is totally unacceptable and you should correct this behavior immediately.

Your message was removed before I had time to look at it, but I followed the link in your sig - nice site! I shall definitely be exploring some of your controls.

If you have free source code to offer, write an article for the site, it will be greatly appreciated by all. If you're selling something, you can approach the site admin for rates on a showcase article, or advertising banners.

Try with this code.
After populating the grid, this is what I did in a similar situation:
for (int i = 0; i < this.dataGridView1.Rows.Count; i++)
{
this.dataGridView1.AutoResizeRow(i);
}

Satips.
