What you're asking is plainly impossible. If you don't have .NET, you can't run a .NET exe. If you don't have SQL Server, you can't have a SQL Server database.

You can create a setup.exe by adding a setup project. You can add a boot straper to have the .net framework installed if it isn't already. The PC must have the .net framework installed for you app to run. As far as the sql server. If the pc you are installing your program on is in the network that your sql server is on, then you just need to make sure your connection string points to your sql server. If not then you will need to install something like sql express and you will have to run create database scripts along with create tables insert rows etc.

I'm trying to get an event-handler relationship set up over a remote tcp connection. I have set the security level so that I can serialize any object (full). My server has a "game" object which has an event. The client has a user control that responds to the event through an intermediate "remoteReceiver" object that inherits MarshallbyRefObject. I'm getting "An error occurred while processing the request on the server: System.ArgumentNullException: No message was deserialized prior to calling the DispatchChannelSink." at "Game.testEvent += new Game.BlankEventHandler(remoteReceiver.fireTestEven t2);". Can anyone tell me how to fix this.
Server code:
<br />
[Serializable]<br />
public class Game : MarshalByRefObject<br />
{<br />
public Game()<br />
{<br />
SoapServerFormatterSinkProvider provider = new SoapServerFormatterSinkProvider();<br />
provider.TypeFilterLevel = TypeFilterLevel.Full;<br />
IDictionary props = new Hashtable();<br />
props["port"] = Properties.Settings.Default.tcp_channel;<br />
props["name"] = String.Empty;
ChannelServices.RegisterChannel(new TcpChannel(props, null, provider), false);<br />
RemotingServices.Marshal(this, "game");<br />
}<br />
[Serializable]<br />
public delegate void BlankEventHandler();<br />
public event BlankEventHandler testEvent;<br />
<br />
public void fireTestEvent()<br />
{<br />
testEvent();<br />
}<br />
}<br />
Client code:
<br />
public partial class PlayerRoom : Room<br />
{<br />
public PlayerRoom()<br />
{<br />
InitializeComponent();<br />
}<br />
<br />
public PlayerRoom(string ip)<br />
{<br />
InitializeComponent();<br />
<br />
TcpChannel tcpChannel = new TcpChannel();<br />
ChannelServices.RegisterChannel(tcpChannel, false);<br />
Type requiredType = typeof(Game);<br />
string port = Properties.Settings.Default.tcp_channel.ToString();<br />
game = (Game)Activator.GetObject(requiredType, "tcp://" + ip + ":" + port + "/game");<br />
<br />
remoteReceiver = new RemoteReceiver();<br />
<br />
game.testEvent += new Game.BlankEventHandler(remoteReceiver.fireTestEvent2);<br />
remoteReceiver.testEvent2 += new Game.BlankEventHandler(eventResponder);<br />
game.fireTestEvent();<br />
}<br />
<br />
public Game game;<br />
public RemoteReceiver remoteReceiver;<br />

Hi,
I am developing windows mobile application using C#.Net(Compact frame work).I can not find double click event on list box control..Please advice how to add the event...
please anybody help me...
Thanks&Regards

That's because there isn't one. Why would you want one anyway? It's not a standard, or expected, behavior for the control.

I can't speak for the OP, but in one of my apps I have a popup form with a listbox to select a value. A double click is implemented to do the same functionality as a single click on the item, and a click of the OK button.

You have to explain to them [VB coders] what you mean by "typed". their first response is likely to be something like, "Of course my code is typed. Do you think i magically project it onto the screen with the power of my mind?" --- John Simmons / outlaw programmer

Log the time of a click in the single click event, and if currentClickTime - LastClickTime < delta use double click behavior instead of single click.

I haven't tried it, but it seems like you could create your own version of the control and override the OnDoubleClick method and actually raise the event instead of doing nothing.

Yes, oh master.
In the real world, that sort of thing doesn't actually help. What is matchIT ? Don't they have a website where you can ask people who know what you're talking about ?

I m asking about matchIT API and how to use in asp.net applicatios.
I want to use this matchIT API in my application for avoiding duplication entry in database.

Wow.....
OK, let me try again. I have no idea what matchIT is. I have no doubt I could google it, just like you could google it to find forums dedicated to matchIT, or to see if someone has done this with C# before. However, the point is, asking in this forum, you may well find that I'm not alone in not knowing about matchIT, and therefore a matchIT forum might be a better place to get help.
Did I explain myself clearly that time ?

Pete that was such a useless reply. It was totally unnecessary. So, I gave you a 5.

My wife would agree with that sentiment, useless and totally unnecessary.

Hai Everbody,
I am having two windows services class in a single project and in the Program.cs the service to run is the first service.
I installed the project and when i am starting only the second service the status of this is running and i haven't started the first service so its status is stopped. but when i view the log entries i am seeing only the first service start up entries.
Can you please tell me why it is happening and how can i solve this?
Best Regards,

You can have multiple services in a solution, but I don't think it is a good idea to have multiple services in a project. I have never attemped that. I think it is a better idea to have separate projects for each service and to install them separately.

if(txtbox2.Focus())
{
myPlayer.SoundLocation = "C:\\WINNT\\Media\\rcle.wav";

Try doing this.
Give the text box a higher tab order. (greater than 0).
if you have a label or something like that give that a tab order 0.
I hope this solves the issue.

Hello,
YEP!
Because you are calling the method Focus which setts the focus to the control.
You have to use the "Focused" property which returns a bool!
if(txtbox1.Focused)
{
...
Nicer would be to implement the "GotFocus" event for you textboxes.
There you can store the sender, that you know which textbox has the focus.
If you then inherit you own Textbox, which provides a string property "SoundLocation", which can be set during design or runtime, you wouldn't need a if statement (or switch) at all.
All the best,
Martin
