First of all, this is not a 'give me all the code' site. Google is the site you need to try to find existing articles to do what you want.
Second, if you have a finger print reader, it should provide the APIs to do that, you shouldn't need to have to write them yourself.

I wonder what gives people that impression?

How to pass multiple values from one form to another via URL ?
|
|
|
|
|
you can use querystring with multiple parameters to pass multiple values to other page...like....
Response.Redirect(page.aspx?Orderid=" & Orderid "&ProductID=" & ProductID)

This is the windows forms board, how is it yuo want to pass stuff via a URL ?
If the data is stored in the DB already, you can just pass an Id to get it from the DB. You can also do cross page postback in .NET 2.0, or you can use the URL, as someone has already said.
There's also the session, but that would be my last port of call.

Hi,
I am working on a custom UserControl that needs to AutoSize itself to fit it's contents.
It doesn't use any of the traditional Text, Font, Other Controls, etc and all the content generation is done with GDI+
I am overriding GetPreferredSize to return the size that I want the control to be, and when I set the AutoSize property to true, the control sizes correctly.
I have some custom properties that when changed will make the control have to grow or shrink to accommodate the updated contents but for some reason I just can't figure out how to make the control update it's size in response to these custom properties.
Could anyone point me in the right direction to sort this out?
Regards,
Heffo

One idea that comes to mind is to create a custom event. This is not a trivial task but you could define your own EventArgs which could hold the hold the new Size value. You could then fire the custom event everytime you update a GDI+ graphic.

Datagridview.CurrentCell returns active cell and DatagridView.CurrentRow returns the row containing the current cell. DatagridviewCell has property called value. I think it is easy to guess what it returns

Did you get the answer to your question?? Your question is not 100% clear. What I understand is when you click on the save button, after saving, your form closes down. Well, the only way it will close is when u ask that for to close. Just remove that code.
If my comments does not make any sense, send me the code snippet so that I can see whats going on.
Cheers.

Hi,
I don't want my user to be able to type in a new item into my combobox, but I can't seem to find a property to set this. Seems logical that there should be one though, is there?
edit: I realize that a listbox would be an option, but I want to have a combo box styled control for this application.
edit 2: Problem solved, for future reference: set DropDownStyle to DropDownList (rather than just DropDown)
Thanks (anyway)

Hi,
I run the windows application and then on the desktop right click and bring up the properties. Goto Appearance tab, under the windows and buttons dropdown select windows classic, under color scheme select pumpkin.
Now the Appearence of the application is totally changed. Is there any way to restrict this?

You could draw all the controls yourself. Alot of controls you can set the colours on and so fix thier look but even with those there are often colours you don't have control over.
It also depends on the language you are writing the app in.
You could buy a commercial skinning library.

What a nasty example. Who even came up with that scheme?

Nasty schemes like that are useful for putting on servers ... that way no one can say "I didn't realise I was on the server!" lol

When you set colours for your forms and controls use web colours, not system colours. Web colours are absolute RGB values, system colours use whatever the windows colours are set to.

Google is your friend.
And don't cross post, the C# forum was the right place to ask. If you follow the articles and tutorials from google then come back and ask more questions when your stuck on a specific problem and people will have no problem in helping you work through it.
