And.... If it was eating 20Gb I'd be worried, but 20Mb is nothing. Also, remember that what you seen in the task manager is the amount of memory the application has reserved from the OS. Not what is actually used.

intensive programs use 150 +, you've got nothing to worry about, if it was that i'de be worried, but 20 is ok. Task manager also isn't always accurate, as was said, it is what is eserved and often a little extra as a buffer.

Make sure you use stringbuilder instead of string where-ever it makes sense ( like when you're building a big string out of lots of little ones ). But, as the others said, 20 MB is not a whole lot.

Hi,
I have a control, which contains a flow panel, with textboxes being added dynamically at runtime.
The flow panel docking is set to fill the control, and its flow direction is set to TopDown.
I want the control to be scrollable, incase there are more textboxes added at runtime than fit the original size.
So I enable Autoscroll for the FlowPanel.
However, I get both updown and leftright scrollbars.
I simply just want the updown scrolling.
Anyone know how I can force this, or find a way around it?
Any response gratefully appreciated

If the contents of the panel fit within the width of the panel then the horizontal scrollbar shouldn't appear. I just tested this out of curiosity.
Are you sure the contents aren't being clipped horizontally? Perhaps an overhanging label?
Otherwise you could expand the panel until all contents fit.

After a while they all bug me

my application should copy specfic row at click event
and i used find method to search rows
my code as follows:
for each dr as datarow in sourcetable.rows
dr=sourcetable.rows.find(textbox1.text)
r=destinationtable.newrow
r("column1")=dr("column1")
r("column2")=dr("column2")
r("column3")=dr("column3")
destinationtable.rows.add(r)
next
but when the code executed the destinationtable rows exceeds according to the source table rows count .
all i need is to copy the displayed row (one row at time)
many regards

The reason for this behavior is quite simple. In your code you loop through all the lines in the source table, and you always add a new line.
dr=sourcetable.rows.find(textbox1.text) seems a bit strange to me. dr already represents a row from sourcetable (because of the loop), but you try to assign it a value from that same table.
If the line dr=sourcetable.rows.find(textbox1.text) even works at all you need to forget about the loop. Otherwise try something like:
For Each dr as DataRow in sourcetable.Rows<br />
If dr.Item("Name_of_the_column_you_are_searching") = textbox1.Text Then<br />
'create the new row according to you code<br />
'so a new row only gets created when<br />
'textbox1.Text is found in the sourcetable<br />
next
Hope this helps,
Johan
My advice is free, and you may get what you paid for.

i want to grid control for a form for backend of xml can i able to do ?
pls explain if yes means how ?

Why would you want to use msflexgrid ? .NET is full of grids, which can take XML as a data source.

I want to multiple entries like record type and i want to store it in xml that only i want to use flexgrid with xml

That made absolutely no sense at all. MsFlexGrid doesn't handle XML and neither does the DataGrid or the DataGridView in the .NET Framework. The XML is handled by the DataSet and DataTable classes, which are bindable datasources for the DataGrid and DataGridView classes. They won't work with the older-than-dirt FlexGrid.

hi all
i am using notepad to make a web page
so please tell me how i can connect to database mysql from notepad
thanks
hi

You can't connect to a database from notepad.
If you mean how to write code to connect to the database, there are thousands of examples out there. Just google for something like "vb.net connect mysql". When you have looked at some of the examples, you can come here with more specific questions that are more suited to be answered in a forum.

I had downloaded the spftware "XAN Game studio Express".
On msdn.com site thet had shown that we can make games using 1)Visual C# 2) Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition & 3)Visual C++ Express edition.
I had knowledge of c++ ,c & VB.Net
But i dont know about C#
So can i make this game using VB.Net ???
Please help needed urgently
HERE IS THE LINK : http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/game/[^]

At the moment XNA game studio express just works with C#. There is no technical reason why you cant use the XNA framework with VB.NET because XNA is basically just an extension of the dotnet 2 runtime.
The things you will be missing most using VB.NET is the game templates but as long as you add the correct references to your VB project you should still be able to use XNA.
I will just add a slight correction to what i have just said. It applies to XNA dev for the PC only. VB.NEt automatically adds references to the microsoft.visualbasic namespace which is not available on the 360. The link below should provide all the info you need.

Hi,
I am reading from a CSV file. I have a drop down with the name of the column header. I loop through the rows in a data set. The value in the CSV file is R 106.80. I am using VB.NET 1.1. Here is my test code:
Dim boolReturn As Boolean
Dim dblResult As Double
boolReturn = Double.TryParse(ds.Tables(0).Rows(i).Item(ddlSitePrice.SelectedItem.Text), NumberStyles.AllowCurrencySymbol, CultureInfo.CurrentCulture, dblResult)
Response.Write(dblResult.ToString() + "<br />")
The result it brings back is 0, why doesn't it want to convert?? I am past frustrated.
Please can someone help me??
Regards

Have you checked the value of the boolReturn variable, so that you know that the parsing worked at all?
Is the current culture suitable for parsing the data?
