Do you want the program to be in excell or can you write it in vb.net??
I don't know about excell but in vb.net you could use a timer wich checks every second (or milisecond depending on how fast you want you're program to react) where the mousecursor is locatated and then take apropriated action. (you can do this with the mouseposition method)

I think if you want a program that will make it easy for you to communictate with you're father it will be best to write it in vb.net (or c# or any other language but not in excell) beceause you can control everything that happens. (It might be more work dough)
If he kan only move his finger I would suggest making a program with at the bottom 26 buttons (large ones) with the alphabet on it (and additional ones for: enter, backspace ... . above it a rich textbox witch dispaly's the chars.
then run the programe on a laptop and you're father can use the mouspad to control the program. that way he can move the cursor and click a button with the use of 1 finger.
(you can even attach a second screen so you can easily read what he is typing)
ofcourse if you don't want to program it windows has a on-screen keyboard with will do the same in any active window downside is the buttons are pretty small.
If you do decide to write a programe you can add several functions on you're own.
from the top of my had:
1) one-button printing
2) db with common used words (could be displayed in a listview or something)
3) one-button font adjustments
4) one-button delete all text
5) ...

If you mean when you startup your computer, edit the registry, inserting a new key at CurrentUser -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows - > CurrentVersion -> Run

If you mean after the user starts the 'My Computer' application, this is difficult. Because My Computer runs within the explorer application (a.k.a. the taskbar) it is hard to detect it being opened, perhaps impossible. Unless your program was to edit the registry key that sets explorer to start a new process, then monitor the processes for the occurence of a new instance of explorer.exe.

Hi,
Once again, after solving one of the problem which i posted earlier on, another raise up.
I use this command File.ReadAllText to open and read up a unicode file.
I got this problem that when I wrote the unicode file using a commerical program, the output file and the program that I opened up have the same character.
When I creating my own unicode program, what I got from the output file is totally different from my program retrieved.
Example:
I got in my output file is "ÿÿ" and it should read into my program's array as characters(0) = "ÿ" and character(1) = "ÿ". But what i got from my output to my program's array as characters(0) = chinese character, mouth and characters(1) = chinese character, mouth.
So help me! help me solve this problem of how to get the character separated or read in the way that characters(0) = "ÿ" and character(1) = "ÿ".

Which unicode encoding are you using?
If you can show some code, that would be helpful, as it seems that you are using the wrong encoding somewhere.

hi,
i have .rdlc report. which is grouped on a field. Every thing is working fine except one that same group contents print on two different pages. My mean is that some contents of same group print at bottom part of page & remaining contents print on top part of next page.
i want to shift whole contents of group to top part of next page (if there r not enough space at bottom part of current page). is there r any option to Keep together group ?(as in crystal report)
i think u properly understand my problem.
Please guide me or provide me some link . any help will be greately appreciated.

I already said, the SQL forum. It doesn't matter what language you use to write your code in. The technology you're asking about is MS Reporting Services, which is part of SQL Server.
If you were asking about ASP.NET Web Form, I'd tell you to ask in the ASP.NET forum as well, regardless of the language you're using to write your code.

is it possible for a single datagrid to view different tables?
is it possible that it will only view some of the contents in a database, then another contents again if i will search another?
For example, i will search the subject "Theology", then all the students who enroll in that subject will be viewed in the datagrid. Then, again, i will search the subject "Social Science", all the students who enrolles in 'Social science" will be viewed. Is it possible for the datagrid???

Of course it would. All you have to do is rebind the DataGrid to the new DataTable result of the search.

ok, i already know how, I saw the process and the codes in the internet...i used the "DISTINCT" in the query builder in Data Configuration Wizard... Then i put this codes in the search button:
OleDbDataAdapter2.SelectCommand.Parameters("subject").Value = ComboBox1.Text<br />
DataSet21.Clear()<br />
OleDbDataAdapter2.Fill(DataSet21)<br />
but how, if i will going to put the codes in the combobox? Because what i want is if i will going to select a subject in the combobox, the students who enroll in that subject will automatically displayed in the datagrid without clicking the search button... Where i will going to put the codes above?

You could get all the records of the student participation and use a DataView to bind to the datagridview.
Then simply changing the rowfilter on the dataview will achieve the same thing.
